Anyone who thinks slavery from the American Civil War period is even an issue in modern times is just mentally ill.  There hasn't been a slave in the USA for 140 years -- about two entire Human lifespans, and about 5 generations.  Reality itself dictates that slavery is a DEAD ISSUE.

So the Jews have a 720 times greater chance of becoming one of the 400 richest Americans.

So, if you took a random selection of 700 blacks and 1 random Jew, you would be better placing your money on that one single Jew making it mega rich than all of the other blacks put together.

This doesn't invalidate your point, but the Forbes 400 is probably heavily dependent upon having ultra-rich ancestors.  Non-whites probably don't have the same percentage of rich ancestors as whites do, thus the results are skewed.

Also add to you list the Japanese.  They were imprisoned in America during WWII, and they country was devastated by atomic bombs during the war.  Yet they are one of the most successful nations on earth.

This is all well and good and for the most part I agree, but I think it's important to keep in mind that a lot of the animosity felt towards American slavery has little to do with the act of slavery itself and more to do with dehumanization and civil rights injustices that perpetuated and still perpetuate themselves to this very day.

As a poor White, I have similar problems, yet there's no cause for my expecting to receive special treatment, particularly anything like reparations.  When born, I was equal to my fellows.  Those born into better circumstances largely raced ahead of me.  I accept that.  Those born into lesser circumstances largely fell behind me.  I accept that, also.  I have my place and it's entirely up to me to occupy it without complaint.

In the final analysis, if there are civil rights violations today, they are by definition illegal and should be pursued by law enforcement.  Other than that, depressed individuals have to understand their positions and make adjustments that allow them to attain prosperity at some future time.

Finally, it's important to emphasize that I made no mention nor leaning towards giving others what you call "special treatment". What I merely asked for was consideration. If you feel like the victim who has to "bite the bullet", imagine how a young black male about 3x poorer than you might feel in the context of what I just said about post-slavery American history.
