hmm.. i like that logic.  we could say the annexation of texas and california along with the gadsen purchase simply isn't an issue in modern times because it happened 160 years ago -- about two entire Human lifespans, and about 5 generations. Reality itself dictates that these land purchases are a DEAD ISSUE.
