Carbon Credits

Carbon Credits are the indulgences of the 21st century. If they really wanted to clean up the environment, they wouldn't sell ANYTHING you could buy to keep polluting. They'd actually MAKE you stop polluting.

All they are, these quote Carbon Offsets, are merely polution credits. Will purchasing such credits actually remove poluted atmosphere and replace it with pure clean air? No. It goes into a slush fund run by companies like Generation Investment Management, which Al Gore is the CEO of, that other corporations for a small fee will dip into to make comercials, or perhaps oh I don't know, throw a concert. Visit their websites, and you will find that they never say in any way how your purchasing of these polution credits will actaully make a difference in the empirical data regaurding clean air, water, or earth. All you are really doing, really, is making people like Mr. Gore richer and richer so he can fly around in his private jets and keep warming the earth with hot air coming from his mouth.

Carbon Credits are a way of incorporating some sense of environmental responsibility within a purely capitalist framework.

If governments actually set up things like emission standards and actually took part in environmental development you Right-wingers and Libertarian cunts would be up in arms saying "GOVERNMENT REGULATION = BAD, ANARCHO-CAPITALISM FOR ALL!"

Sorry, carbon credits are just a scheme to make the US pay already ruined economies for their lack of pollution and no one actually STOPS polluting, they just pay other people who are already not polluting to not pollute. Right-wingers and Libertarians dont like it either.
