I think its funny how anyone who disagrees with environmentalism is automatically a shill of big business.

Name: Anonymous 2007-07-10 20:30 ID:qzVgiF7B

i think its funny how anyone who disagrees with environmentalism is an idiot who does not understand basic scientific method and has willfully ignored the 1,500+ scientist authored Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that said human caused climate change is a virtual certainty.

If you disagree with me, you\'re a terrorist.  Either you\'re with us, or you\'re with the enemy!

Yeah, forget the fact that there are real noteable scientists and people who actually work in the field of weather who say you\'re full of shit.

To quote you:
\"i think its funny how anyone who disagrees with environmentalism is an idiot\"

LOL.  If you disagree with me, you\'re an idiot.  Either you\'re with us, or you\'re with the terrorists.  If you disagree with me, you\'re a shill of big business.

Don't think for yourselves or evaluate both sides, just go with what someone else tells you is true.  Trust them, they're experts.

HAY THEY SAID SO IN A DOCUMENTRY ON TV, IT MUST BE TRUE!

Seriously, the guy who made that is a complete tabloid kook who manipulates scientific data and interviews in such a way it would make Moore's F9/11 research look like child's play.

Martin Durkin's other works are worthy of mention, including "All enviromentalists = Descendants of the Nazis!", "Breast Implants = Beneficial for health!".

But don't just take my word for it:

And Al Gore didn't misrepresent facts or attempt to manipulate people into supporting his own political bullshit? Gimme a break.    A lot of his claims are just flat out not supported by the studies done by the IPCC, but I don't hear you whiners mentioning that.

So Climate Change isn't happening because some idiot politician decided making a movie about it might help his election chances?

Gore got a lot more stuff right then Durkin.

yeah those thousands of scientists are stupid to question what this one BBC tv director has to say.

OK.  you name your half dozen "experts" who believe it isn't happening and I'll counter by naming 1,600 who believe it is.

you go first.  you'll need that headstart to scrounge up the missing 1,594.

Global Warming isn't a priority, and for the economic expense of simply engaging in Kyoto (which won't do much anyways, even if you believe global warming is real), we could do a lot more good around the world.

When 2 billion Chinese and Indians can start affording cars, decent houses and proper food OH FUCK WE'RE GONNA GET RAPED. The developing world is what we've really got to worry about, and it's inevitable.

It's already been shown that the problems in Africa can't be solved just by throwing money at them. Charity won't solve anything, Africans and third-worlders in general need to build up their economies in order to survive. The recent Chinese investments in Africa are possibly their best hope for the future.

Instead of giving money to scammers for "carbon credits" to plant trees (and chop them down afterwards) we should be treating this as a scientific problem, and invest massive amounts in green technology, nuclear and material sciences to treat solving AGW as a new space-race.

That way we get fantastic new technologies to reduce environmental impact and will no doubt lead to further scientific breakthroughs that will help the entire world, not just the US. Even if AGW doesn't work out being as bad as we first thought, we're still well ahead and can fix other forms of pollution.

Hard science beats the shit out of token political gestures like carbon trading and shitty concerts.

yeah but it's kind of hard to build up african economies when their major exports are DIRT AND MALARIA.

Don't change these.
