"Once again, this tragedy reminds us that we must ban violent videogames, violent movies, guns, alcohol, and a few other risque things to force the largest amount of people possible to become upstanding moral citizens. If we do that, these incidents will drastically decrease. If we don't, we are merely sacrificing random people in the future to continue pursuing our carnal desires."
So, I'm not sure if I believe this should be done or not, but doubtlessly, it would save lives to ban stuff to the point where someone who was a teenager would be so sensitized to violence that they would be shocked by the simple sight of it. However, I am also one of the nuts who wants to continue pursuing my carnal desires, so I don't want to give up my violent vidya games and movies and such, even though I know I should to save lives. But just like the rest of the people in our society, I want to try to rationalize it away so I can keep my carnal desires.

spoilers: life's deadly and you're not going to change anything by ignoring it
Wait WTF! if video games make you violent then i would be the next Ted Bundy, Domner, Gesiey. you cant say that video games create violent people because it is not true. the calmest people that i have seen (in multiple country's) are gamers. when you abuse alcohol, drugs,... porn., thats when you get people that are morally desensitized.

Videogames cause 1 in 1000000000 people to become violent. However, that one person will kill people. It is selfish and immoral to not give up your violent videogames and save those few people's lives.

Preventing desensitization to violence is like trying to stop sex by pretending it doesn't exist. The victorian era in England was full of tales of teenage boys masturbating in public and dry humping women, because they didn't know what sex was they just didn't have any discretion and had to learn about it the hard way.
It is the same way with violence. Violence is shocking, but when you are angry or full of hate that shock is pretty much non-existant. When boys hit puberty and experience all sorts of new and strong emotions they will not know how to deal with it and are likely to resort to violence without a hint as to what violence can do.
Frankly if I got into a fight I'd prefer it to be with someone who has played tekken 3 and thinks fighting is about kicking and punching until the opponent submits, not about eye gouging, stabbing and repeated kicking until the opponent is paralysed from the neck down.
