Waste Disposal

So, in Japan people sort their trash into recyclables, burnable, and nonburnable.  I'm curious as to why other nations, the US in particular, haven't adopted the same habit.  Wouldn't following Japan's example help to reduce pollution and other waste related problems?

(in before "japan is superior")
(in before "get out weeaboo")

yes, it would, but it's costly, and alot of people can't be bothered to, then if they can't be bothered to, things get mixed up, which pretty much leaves the whole thing useless, then you have to clean out in the trash, which costs more money.

but yes, if it could get public backing it would be a great idea, but i doubt it could.

The USA dosnt need to take this action, we have plenty of room for landfills, unlike Japan.

Landfills, the future's mines.

really, you should never compare USA and Japan, thats what gun-grabbers do.
Its cheaper for the USA to use landfills, its cheaper for Japan to Burn and Recycle than to ship there trash.
Also burning trash is just as bad as the environment as keeping it in a landfill, lots of carbon dioxide.(of course landfills make methane, but that equals future mines)

in that case, shouldn't we at least make a greater push for recycling?  Maybe finding some sort of way to reward people for recycling (or fine them for not doing so).

No, actually, it takes more energy and manpower to recycle things, recycling and waste disposal are pretty much equal.
What we need to do is reward people for using making less trash period

Recycling could be a highly lucrative industry. The problem is that it requires almost the entire population to do their bit in order to work properly. Socialists go all wide eyed and excited at the prospect of utilising their collectivist philosophy. Unfortunately it is all BULLSHIT. Socialism would only fuck up the recycling industry by "expecting people to be nice" as it always does. It's not even a social science, it's the naive ramblings of a bunch of hippies.

We need better ideas, preferably ones which are completely unrelated to marx since we will be wanting ideas that actually work.

I agree with him myself. There's no objective test for "autism" like a blood test or an x-ray. It's the new popular thing for people to label their kids with, kind of like it's the "in" thing to be gay. Real diseases can be verified with objective tests, but autism can't be. I think "autistic" kids are generally either retarded or a result of bad parenting. Nobody wants to admit their kids are either, so boom -- "autism."
