Torture is an excellent deterant and a prime means of extracting information. Just like physical force, it has to be used to enforce justice. Remember, criminals use torture to commit crimes, we are using it to prevent crimes.

torture is a terrible source of relyable information. people will say anything under torture, and i mean anything, even if it's false, just to get it to stop. we would never condone torture to be preformed on our soldiars, so we should never stoop to our enemies level and torture their prisoners. we're a model of freedom and justice in the world, and if we lower ourselves to torture we lose that status, and become no better than those lopping off heads.

Interesting. Possibly torture could be used as a deterrant to preventing crimes against women. Of course, prostitution and pornography must be made completely illegal as soon as possible - this will mold public opinion and society to realize that women are not mere chunks of meat to be bought and sold, or viewed as sex objects. However, it would also help, possibly, to legalize torture for some crimes against women. This would help deter violence against women.
