I've noticed that many of you were talking about some serious and depressing world crises that are happening now. If everyone would just accept Jesus into their heart, and pray to God that He will deliver us from all this filth and evil, then everything will be okay. If we believe, our faith can solve all these problems. I know that many of you will knee-jerk into derisive responses but I implore all of you to consider Jesus' great power and let Him into your life. Thank you.
fuck you. Why does it always have to be Jesus??!!?!
And anyway, fuck that!! What the hell are you talking about Jesus delivering from evil??? The evil that religion has created is nearly incomprehensible. Much of that evil in the name of Jesus and his Christianity.

Dear Original Poster,
I once accepted Jesus into my heart, wholly and honestly. I felt nothing different and in fact, I only got confused by all of it. I ended up exploring other paths, "heathen" paths I suppose you would call them. My chosen religion makes me feel more whole and complete than christianity ever did.
There is no one religion. I have come to realize that. They are all right and they are all wrong at the same time. Nothing is ever completely right. Especially Christianity. There are many things in the bible that are outdated and cannot be applied to modern culture. In fact, did you know that the only reason that Gluttony was a "Deadly Sin" in the first place was that in the biblical times, food was not as readily available as it is today, and so anyone who ate too much was taking from someone else. Nowadays that isn't so much of a problem. At least not in the western world.
Also, as Poster 4 has said, there is much violence caused in the name of Jesus. Jesus didn't ever say, "go out there and kill people". No. Jesus taught to love your fellow man. Make peace, not war, and all that hippie jazz. Jesus was a teacher. A teacher. Nothing more. He lived on this rock just like the rest of us and was as human as any of us.
Now, I'm not saying that it's wrong to follow teachings. After all, that's how the world works. Buddhists follow the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama and they live the most honest lives in the world. Society is built on teachings of sorts. It's good to learn. But there are extremes which must not be taken. In your quest to show how good you are to Jesus, you neglect the fact that Jesus wouldn't want you to do all this. Jesus was a loving man. Jesus wouldn't tell you to condemn your fellow man just because he's a bit different, would he?

Silly Gomez, Jesus has nothing to do with Christianity as a social and political force, spreading ethnocentrism across the globe.

How much you know of Hinduism? It's very versatile religion that has something for everyone and actually makes quite bit of sense. Not to mention all the wondrous spiritual and other kind of knowledge reading Vedas can teach you. Recommended reading even if you're not Hindu. Many famous scientists(notably Nikola Tesla and Oppenheimer) loved those books.

Whatever, if it's based on faith, it's not scientific, logical, or rational, then it is not worth looking at, unless you are into religious studies.
>>if it's based on faith, it's not scientific, logical, or rational
illogical statement for someone who espouses logic so strongly

I am a former, reformed christian. this statement is pathetic because if it wasn't due to our morally corrupt, christian president, we wouldn't be going through what we are now in american.
I am not talking about Iraq, I am talking about how our christian presidente buch, is going be hind congresses back to help sell out america.
Proof is at spp.gov.
For all of you that don't know what that .gov is. It is an official government website.
Check out all the ways that Bush is helping create the North American Union, and getting rid of America as it is now or have been the past 220 years.
Again, don't ignore, go there and check out for yourself. There is also a picture of the spp (security and prosperity partnership =spp) on the background of the 3 leaders, shaking hand.
Oh by the way, when you travel across the country. Are you going to go on a Mexican airlines or american airlines. Silly me, going from California to New York won't be on either one of their airlines, but the North American Unions airline.
God Bless America and God Bless our selling out President.

This is nothing really new. Presidents have been selling our national sovereignty down the road for some time now.
At least it's not as fast as under Clinton.

>>20 The last three presidents have either had glaring weaknesses or been lousy overall. I think you should oust your system, effectivize medicare, education and the infrastructure and then, once you've created a strong system of interaction between consumer-market-state, you can leave the UN and start to let the market take over everything but the bare neccesities. You have a lot to win, a lot to lose but I find it improbable it will be worse.

Thank fuck I don't live wherever the fuck you live. Stupid religious people. (And no, I'm not a Christian, but even being an Athiest, I'd sure as fuck rather live in Capitalist, Conservative USA than live in the UK or some shithole like China under some gun grabbing police statist.)
I have never played D and D, which is odd because im a complete nerd. :D

Christianity is far removed Jesus' teachings. Most of it is based on what his disciples thought of him (believe in him and you will have everlasting life or be burned for eternity), what preachers have changed about his message over the years or interpreted differently, or how different churches have different views on minor topics, using passages to reinforce their superiority and seld-righteousness. The specific teachings of Jesus are rarely adhered to, codified, or followed.
Also, Jesus never said he was the son of God.

That's a good point. There are scholars (like Christian Lindtner) saying that the New Testament is another version of Buddhist sutra.
seriously though, i don't belive in thought-restriction.

Sorry to interrupt your Jesus-infested reverie, but plenty of people in the past have put their lives into his fickle hands and died, and all others had to say was "oh it was their time."
Trusting a dead man is something one should do cautiously.
Meanwhile, stick your head out so I can ram my fist into it, and will you kindly turn the other cheek also.
believing in god doesent make you immortal. and are you really that naive? its all bout your self. you you you you you you you you you you you. your responsibility. good christian live their lives in way they could die every day. without troubles bout material stuff, money etc.
and bout that turning your left cheek. back in time when Jesus lived, when you turned your left cheek to jew it was like showing your midlefinger :)

The Bible is just a collection of moral codes to live by to lead to a productive life. Don't murder, don't steal, don't lie. All good things that every man reguardless of religion so live by... but they don't.
Thats why we need to rise up and kill all you scumbag liberals!!! RAWR! *Burns Bill of Rights*
Fascism Forward!
I love in Australia, and Both the us and Australia...2 so called "Gun grabbin" states have shown lower crime deaths and lower crime in general after the gun restrictions were put into place. Aside from that we enjoy not having guns because we are safe and happy. You gun nuts like to think society can function without guns, and that a dictator will take over as soon as the guns disappear..open you fucking eyes morons...the shit you spout is like a bad friggin church sermon.

dont murder, dont steal, dont lie, kill non-christians, beat your slaves(but dont kill them... if they die days later from a beating thats fine though...), kill non-virgin women on their wedding nights, kill homos.
thoughs leads to words, words lead to actions. so mind what you think. and isnt it quite hypocrit if you think bullshit and act good?

You are black, it is 1958, except guns are banned and being a law abiding citizen you allowed them to confiscate your means of defense. A few months later Klan riders are standing next to voting booths and threatenning to shoot blacks who try to vote, they of course still have guns because they are not law abiding and many of their members are in the police. The police of course are doing fuck all. What do you do?
wait a second here now. thoughts does not necessarily lead to words. second of all, my thoughts are not necessarily my opinions. in fact, in order to allow myself to evolve my opinions (see, just becuase they feel good doesnt mean I can be sure they are "right"), I must test out different opinions then the ones ones I'm currently holding.
and thats the entire point with no-thought restriction. who is to judge whats right or wrong? how can we ever know that we have the best possible opinions and ideas if we are removed the ability to ponder about some of them? (not really sure how you would do that anyway though.)
yes but point is watch out what you think.
of course bad reveals good. when you stop thinking bad(sin) (wich propably never completely happen, expect for some) you propably have enough experience bout it and you dont have to think all the good and bad. the truth is not in good or in bad. its something else. theres allways 2 sides and what you think is
good is bad for somebody else. when i writed dont be impure even in your thoughs i meant that try to kill them bad thoughs, you dont need them if you know they are bad. they couse
harm. thoughs of hate, lust etc.
