The big problem behind it all is that, somehow, a lot of them are getting the same benefits from the government as americans do (soc. sec, welfare, etc) without ever paying a dime into the system.
They are, economically speaking, a drain on the taxpayers.

The minutemen do not actually arrest anyone. They do not take law enforcement into their own hands. They simply watch the border peacefully, and if they spot illegals crossing, they notify the appropriate people (such as the INS or whatever it is.)
Or according to some reports, murder them. You can't expect all of them to be friendly watchdogs that don't have a drop of Racially motivated violence in them.

actually if there is more enforcement of business' that hire illegals. we wont even have to build a fence ('cept maybe to get the drug runners) you just have to make it so costly and risky to employ an illegal that almost nobody will. if there are no jobs for these people then there is no incentive to come over here, hence there wont be hardly anybody crossing over. hell most of them that are already here will probably leave. Also reforming the system of benefits so that they can't receieve any will help.

I don't think enforcement of business is the solution. In many instances, it's very hard to know if someone is an illegal or legal or not. I've heard many illegals pretty easilly obtain fake identification, and often, are even able to collect welfare, social security, register to vote, you name it. This is probly one good reason these programs are so out of control (budget-wise). I think they should be slashed.

Imagine if we just gave it out as a tax cut to the middle class. That's about 2500$ a head. With both parents accounted for, you could buy a nice used car, a cheap new car, or maybe a new car with some extra funds from the family. You could buy a few computers/household. Big screen TVs, game systems, pools, paved driveways, etc... the list goes on and on. Over population doesn't begin when people begin to starve, or when people first begin to experience poverty. It begins when the gdp per capita has to decrease to accomodate more people.
How can we help the poor of America if we must expend resources feeding the excess poor of countries that lack the moral conscience to even begin to eliminate tyranny, let alone poverty? It is too much to ask that we stop having children to accomodate the over population of an inferior culture. Anyone who supports immigration with these facts in mind must hate american citizens and must have some desire to burn american liberties, such people have wool over their eyes and unless realism is extremism it is not extreme to want to ban immigration with countries that do not share our values.
Put notorious head tax on the illegal immigrants. That worked in Canada long time ago.
