BT blocks /b/

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-17 12:09

British Telecom have blocked 4chans /b/ for me. Or more specificly automaticly redirects me to the ban page. Apparently BT are the first western democracy to filter traffic. They are trying to stop child pornography and all they are doing is imposing on my freedom to act like a complete /b/tard on the internet.

Im switching to another company that does not do this. Im for freedom of information. Information is neither good nor bad, its up to humans to judge that. By blocking child porn they are driving it even more underground, make it harder and harder to capture the criminals.

Oh /b/ whatever shall i do without you?

Actually i could set up a ssh tunnel to my server in germany and give that a go.

Actually since im a European Citizen i can move there very easily.  I can just move there, i dont need a work permit or visa, i only need to apply for a residence permit within 3 months of ariving. Basically i just go to the local police station and filling in some forms. And i get all the health/education benefits like in the UK.

The EEA agreement, look it up! :D

Now for the tricky part, learning Norwegian. For seier!

Note that while Norway is much less police-state than UK it's quite bad still and notably they also censor net. Unlike UK they also totally ban loli and even stories about it. It's been getting better, but Norway is pretty much still ruled by crazy Christians. Your best choice in Northern Europe would be Finland.

Since when where norway run by christian?

The red/grenn gorverment is a bunch of pro-homo, niggerloving anti-facists.

Yup, loli is legal here in Finland, so are stories about it, and 420chan's /pedo/ board isn't blocked.

Also Finland doesn't block any website and stuff on that pedo board happens to be legal here in too. Atleast when I saw it. Might have changed. Not really my kind of board.

Apparently it has changed, but atleast in 90s it was still run by Christians. All that black metal was born to counter Christian dominance.

is like complaining about not having the 'freedom' to murder.

Enjoy your police state. Blocking /b/ is totally ridiculous. Hell, blocking even real CP is ridiculous and stupid. Instead of blocking they should bust that CP.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-17 19:58

Making CP illegal is stupid because it's just pictures; the person who is looking at the pictures did not do anything.

LOL? How is him viewing child porn on the net on par with 'murder'?

Since when was it considered 'ok' for the government to block the simple, peaceful, /viewing/ of anything?

Sure, freedom of speech/the press may not be in his bill of rights/constitution/whatever, but that doesn't mean the government committing censorship in any form is moral and just.

Maybe the police should be going after child molesters, and child pornographers instead of random losers on the net fapping to child porn?

Point of making real CP is that real CP always requires child abuse. That's why it's illegal. Now it's arguably should possession be outlawed, but manufacturing and distribution should be outlawed atleast.

Yeah, CP could be compared to videos or pictures of someone commiting a crime.

My point was, you don't have the freedom to commit crime, murder was just an example.

It's not crime to visit /b/ in UK. I don't live in UK, but I have checked some laws there and I'm pretty sure just viewing CP isn't crime. Possession(browser cache doesn't count) & distribution is crime though. Besides there's very rarely CP on /b/.

Don't change these.
