Annoying dumb people who harbour opinions.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-01 18:51

Every so often a person at random comes along and says something which reveals their political orientation.

They say something about spirituality and you instantly know they are some hindu hippy faggot, or they say something about nietzshsczhcshczhe or morality and you know they are aetheist or christian respectively and you have to pretend they know more than you and that you will consider what they've said otherwise you have to continue talking to them.

Or you get some racist who says something about the features of a black person using pc language or some liberal who pauses and then says something which doesn't make any sense out of the blue like "SOCIAL CULTURAL DIVERSITY STRENGTH IS MULTI-TOLERANT PRIDE" or "ENGLAND HAS ALWAYS BEEN BLACK" in casual conversation causing a sudden wind of racism paranoia to sweep through and from then on everyone is paranoid about who is a racist and who thinks who is a racist.

Then there are people who think capitalism is the solution to everything and get pissy when a conversation very mildly touches on the need for something to be run by the government. Likewise you get the opposite and you have to hear some annoying communist yammer on about how some random company who clubs out the brains of children on some tropical island or hilltop village somewhere for $$$s or whatever.

Bitch about intellectual inferiors who rise above their station in this thread.

If I understand you correctly, you're pissed off at people who have a certain opinion on matters and want to force their beliefs on others or get pissed off when someone doesn't agree with their beliefs? Yes, it annoys me as well. It seems to be a trend in contemporary society to get angry and say your feelings are hurt when someone doesn't share your viewpoint, or to go around and talk about the same boring subjects ALL THE TIME wherever they are, annoying people who just don't give a shit about the thing they get all worked up about. Example: people who like to start discussions about "minorities". I personally don't give a fuck whatever anyone thinks about them, but they keep bringing it up all the time. One side claims they are the cause of all sorts of problems, another side claims they are oppressed and discriminated and we should all get together to help them. If you say you don't care, you are either a nigger lover or a racist.

The ancient art of apathy is long since dead.

People who want to force their beliefs on others are assholes yes, but to some extent we all want to spread our beliefs so this isn't really a problem unless done in pathological excesses. What I find annoying is an otherwise normal person who suddenly harbours some dumbass belief and they are all part of the same group who's reasonning skills suddenly jump back to the mid paleolithic concerning a certain subject or issue.

Usually people are apathetic towards everything and if they care about something they look into it and find the correct rational answers or outlook. Rational people tend to converge towards a moderate scientific diplomatic sort of belief system, nothing in particular, you can be a muslim or a liberal or whatever just so long as you are not an extremist. However these people care about a certain issue, but instead of being reasonable, they join up to a little group with some agenda and they lap up all the dogma that goes with it instead of just being logical like normal. They may not seem to be unreasonable at first since the issue doesn't dominate their lives, but as you get to know them eventually they spurt out a little dogma in their conversation which you have heard everyone in this group use before.

I guess I am part of a moderate->extremist duality group thingy maybe, but since moderates generally agree with each other and extremists are divided into lots of opposing groups I guess the moderates group is special.

I think the moderates group is at least less vocal, especially because they have less "battles" to wage.

In any argument the moderate pretty much gets run over in the ideological rush.  I mean most moderates don't have extreemly strong feelings about moderation(or at least not as strong as those that believe n absolutes).  Most moderates probably also realize that the fight is best done after both sides are tired and then step in and offer compromise.  problem is nobody is ever tired on 4chan.  we cycle though people to the point that someone might be on a thread for a hundred posts, and when the thread gets boring they will shut up and the thread dies.  sombody else will pick up the flag and carry it for a different thread for a while.  People have wildly diverse opinions in reality, and the problem can also be moderates simply choose the lesser of 2 evils when they choose their side.

Or you are just another person that likes to get on these threads and bitch, just like the rest of us.  i am one of thoes right wing, anti-communists that doesn't trust the govenment to tie it's own shoes without paying a spending billions on deciding the cheapest way of doing it.  only to then spend another few billion on the shoelaces.  so I have my extreems, in the fact that i believe the less government i have in my face at any given point the happier i am.  Guess what? people have opinions and are going to say them.  Not everyone can be a moderate, it would be really dull if they could.  and moderate politicains are usually even worse assholes than the extreemist left or right.  at least you know how the extreemist will behave from the begining of his term to the end.  the moderate you have to start nitpicking on which moderate you are going to elect and which one you agree with more issues on.  then you discover they are actually oprotunistic politicans that change their mind with every opinion poll that comes out, leaving you realizing that half of the issues you agree with him on change constly, with no way of knowing exactly how he is on issues.  a typical right wing goes right wing 75% or more of the time.  a good left wing goes left wing 75% of the time or more, and if you shove about 126 people from each group into a room toghter, hopefully you get a group of politicans that get absoultely nothing done that doesn't absolutely require getting done.  this functions at times, and failes at times, I have a hard time deciding myself if the times it funtions outweigh the times it doesn't or visa versa.  But wtf, it's the best way i can think of other than having myself run the country by hand.

People can still be smart but believe stupid things or be idiots every so often. Alas, the human condition.

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-02 1:06

He isn't bitching about people being stupid.  he just doesn't like that everyone isn't of the same opinion as him, and are therefore extreemists.  If he were bitching about people being stupid he would just be bitching about himself.

That's why I said "Bitch about intellectual inferiors who rise above their station in this thread.". The thing is my political orientation is logical and I reasonning it out myself, it is not because I saw some gei propoganda and have some weird emotional problem.

this is the fallacy of being human

we each believe that we are the ones who make sense. that everyone else in the world is flawed. That we are the ones who see the entire universe crystal clear. That we are rational, and logical, that what make sense to us is reality even if everyone else around us believes otherwise. This is the truth inside each person. We are all subjective creatures and thus favor our own interpretations.

also you can disregard my statement because I am a completely biased and crazy faggot who also sucks cocks, etc, blah blah blah

I respond to criticism and actively seek it to reinforce my opinions, am open to other suggestions, am aware of when my emotions affect my reasonning, I often find complete strangers agreeing with me and never assume I am 100% right or that my views are crystal clear. I never said I was omnipotent, just that I am not a stupid asshole.

If it is impossible for any person to be right or have a better understanding of something than another then we might aswell believe Gilgamesh doesn't exist or something equally absurd.

Don't change these.
