The US is not very dense

Many countries make use of space by cramming people into buildings, subways, public transportation, small apartments, skyscrapers, trains, tiny automobiles, etc.  Yet the US continues to take up more space per person rather than more persons per space.  SUVs and personal vehicles over buses and subways. Apartment buildings, homes, offices and condos that are built short and take more space per unit.  Roads and utilities that stretch for miles.  Huge space between buildings dedicated to parking lots and lawns, or just unused land left to be paved over in the future.  If it were Asia, everything would be like New York.

No, go back to Human Geography 1010.

The reason is simply that children are fucking expensive. To Middle class people, children are a fuckin liability, an expense. You only want them for that warm fuzzy feeling, and spending money on your bitch daughters ipod isn't worth that feeling, so middle class people have less kids.

For poor people, children are an asset. You can use them to help  around the house, and work. You don't need to send them to school, cause...well...Jimmy will probably die because of the lack of medical care. In lesser developed countries, children are useful.

But in America and Europe...fuck kids. They complain too much.
