Extreme religious ideologies are being used to cover political agendas.

The religion the canny thinkers founded follows the reverse of communism and secular humanism, it poured political and economic ideology into a religion and that combustible mixture produced Dominionism, a new political faith that had the additional advantage of insulating the cult from attacks on its political agenda by giving its practitioners the covering to simply cry out, Youre attacking me for my religious beliefs and thats religious persecution![22]

This is tolernace being abused and exploited.

Yah.

Old shit. Heinlein foresaw this, along with gratuitous sex scenes.

Better watch out. You don't know what those wacky Christians are plotting. I mean, next thing you know, they'll want to stop those nice al-Qaeda folks from expressing their desire to kill Jews and Americans in the name of their god Allah.

I wonder what would happen if the position was reversed, >>4.

You think they suddenly just decided it would be fun?

Hell yeah I for one fully welcome the unification of church and state if it protects us from them dirty ragheads and their religion of fear 'n' terror. The world doesn't have any room for secularism now!! Praise the lord!

Right, so when al-Qaeda wants to impose their theology on people, it's bad, but when Focus on the Family tries to do the exact same thing, it's "upholding moral values."

"Bush and bin Laden are really on the same side: the side of faith and violence against the side of reason and discussion. Both have implacable faith that they are right and the other is evil. Each believes that when he dies he is going to heaven. Each believes that if he could kill the other, his path to paradise in the next world would be even swifter." (Richard Dawkins)

What, Focus on the Family has a stormtrooper division now?

Yes. Haven't you heard? They're kicking people's doors in and forcing them to pray at gunpoint, and I hear they're planning on hijacking an airliner full of hostages and crashing it into a skyscraper in order to force the world to accept their beliefs.

Name: Anonymous 2005-05-12 3:06

>>10 It's called The United States Military. Forced prayer meetings. Instructors at the Air Force Academy telling Cadets "If you are not 'born again', your Air Force Career is already over". Open and condoned harassment of Jews, Muslims, Catholics is now SOP at many bases. And all this is only the stuff that's made it into the mainstream press.

You're close to the truth. They allowed 9-11 to happen just like FDR allowed Japan to strike first. A tried and true method that pushed forward the timeline so far that they've not yet fully infitrated the world corporate leadership, which will ignite an internal power struggle.

Those are very serious allegations you're making. Can you back them up with evidence?

As to the first reply:
You could try Google (hint: it's a web-site).
As to the second:
You could try reading history (hint: the study of the past).

Enjoy your Reich. Until they come for you. And you can bet your ass they will.

Study the new base closures and pay attention to where the units relocate. Far, far away from anything, and all in Rabid Right states.

Ah, congrats, you've just demonstrated why the Left is becoming increasingly irrelevant in American politics. Religious indoctriniation! Secret conspiracies! Fourth Reich! Nazis! Bu$hitler! Rabid Right! Press censorship! It's impressive if you're in a second-grade classroom, but the adults figured out that throwing around ad hominem and unfounded conspiracy theories a la Harry Reid doesn't really get you anywhere. Thankfully for you, your friends in the mainstream media tend to draw attention away from the Left to the latest example of Evil Right-Winger Hypocrisy (Tom DeLay is the 114th largest fundraiser in Congress! How immoral!), but the advent of alternative media is eroding that advantage. So, have fun in your little crazy world. Just remember, you're always right, no matter what.

Oh my. I guess the Goose step's the new steps for you. Interesting how you don't even attempt to refute anything I said (because you can't) rather you regurigate talking points that come straight from Rove's butt. Left Wing Media? That canard's well past it's prime.

The great boogyman of "secret conspiricies"? Nonsense and prattle at best. The goals of the false Christians have been publicly stated over and over, along with exactly how they would seize power--for over 20 fucking years. Nothing "secret".

As to Tom Delay (who I never mentioned)--I've got no problem with his fundraising or what he does with said funds. Hell, even his trips to Saipan to view first hand the sweatshops and child brothels, who's outlawing he had killed, with the trip paid for by the owners (BTW Saipan is Americian Territory) I can live with.
The hypocrisy of DeLay is his mocking profession of moral values.

people who use words like 'canard' and can't use the proper 'its' automatically fail.

Fail? As in fail to address even one point raised while retentively nit-picking the grammer and puntuation of an internet post?

It's hard to refute documented truth, isn't it? So much easier to bloviate and obfuscate (WTF, if you liked canard you'll love those).

Look up Leo Strauss (on google or wikipedia) and his philosophies in relationship to the neoconservatives, such as Paul Wolfowitz, in the current US government. What his political philosophy boiled down to was that the elite among society should convince the ignorant commoners that the gov't is following noble, feelgood goals, while keeping it hidden that they are actually engaging in completely amoral policies they believe will better their country. There is a "real" reason behind their policy, and then there is the stuff they tell the public. This is exactly what the neocons in the US have been doing. Either you're in on the game or you're just another rube waving a flag and playing patriot dumbass rightwinger.
