You are almost correct, however. Alcoholism, drug use, and violence breeds poverty. A poor education is the fault of the students and their families. It is hard to learn when you are on the corner selling crack.

Glad you asked. I actually LIVE in SOUTH LOS ANGELES (formerly "South Central". Don't know why they changed the name, didn't change anything.) And I'm more than willing to supply proof- though I don't know exact how I'd prove that.

Second of all, it is because I am black and because I live in this area that I've been able to qualify that poverty breeds inner city violence and etc. The criminal impluse is something inherant in all human beings.

But let me tell you something, I stand out like a sore fucking thumb among these people- even the small minute instances of white minorities here. These kids aren't thinking about their future- if you believe otherwise- then you are either starkly bigoted or possess a vast amount of ignorance because you don't actually live near or have talked to any "poor people".

I believe strongly in everything anti-gun control, have frequently spoken against most ineffectual social programs and strongly wish a return to state rights- even if a state makes abortion illegal. (But especially if that state protects the woman's right to choose)

Poverty is a disease. As is bi-polar politics. The Asians that America gets are a minority of people who didn't fall victim to poverty. In other words: They are the Oprah Winfrey's, Condelezza's, Colon Powell's, Clarence Thomas's, Dr. Alan Lee Keyes' and whatever number of Black med students or lawyers you can find. They (black intellectuals and the like) are rare because the occurance of a HUMAN BEING overcoming the caste system of poverty is RARE. The Japanese, quite frankly don't count. That's like asking why some british white guy excels in the U.S. Out of the MILLIONS of impoverished Chinese that live as factory workers (making beads and shit for Maudi Gras)- how many actually make it out of their small poor village and over to America?

Actually, if the China's recent political and economic excursions into Africa are any indication- I do believe I can, very easily. China has a habit of not only coming to the table with money, but with ideals based on a fundamental common goal as well. I wouldn't expect you to know that.

As for the Chinese reference...my point was this: Hundreds of Millions of them live in conditions worse that any LA ghetto. Hundreds of millions of them are not only very uneducated, but the censorship of their government plauges them with a lack of information that creates factory-workers culture. They don't even know why they make the things they make, many of them are middle school and high school drop outs. It has nothing to do with race or genetics. There's a Chinese ruling class who possess a majority of the wealth and there's a vast majority of Chinese who don't (thus they are impoverished).

In America: The inverse is true. Blacks are actually flooded with a wealth of information. But it's not: "Become a Political Science Major, Go to medical school, try to get into Yale". It's : "Here's your new role model: 50 Cent. Not Alan Keyes because he acts 'white'. Hey: You're black. Why aren't you more like Kobe?"

This sentiment is not only prevailent among blacks, but cheifly    and gladly perpetuated by whites. I live in Oakland (nigger capital of NorCal) and have had excellent asian neighbors. Even the wannbe gangster ones still respected my property and never gave me any shit.

The last 4 nigger families as neighbors have all done these things:
- Broken into garages to steal
- Broken into mailboxes to steal
- Sold drugs out of their house
- Had the cops over for disturbances at least once every two weeks

Check out the ten most dangerous cities/states. All the top 10 are heavily negro or hispanic. Then research the 10 safest. All mostly white, with Asians usually being the primary minority. Anyway, your omission to my correctness is clear. You first acknowledge that they live in "the ghetto". IE- They are poor. Second you knowledge that they are minorities. IE- Not the social, cultural or racial "desirables". This is precisely the core of the problem and it's reflected in other problems we have in the world as well. You stereotyping and generalizing damns others from escaping the stereotype. It's something that I have to deal with frequently as well. Whites have it stuck in their heads that everything they suppose about another race is true- so even if they meet a black person who doesn't conform to the stereotype- they themselves don't even consider that person black. I can't count the number of times I've heard some white guy tell me that "I'm not a real black." Because I don't listen to a lot of Tupac or dress in baggy ass clothes. It's an entirely rediculous double standard.

Bill Cosby was 100% right, but again, you're assuming that black culture in America culture is some insular, isolated thing. It's not- "black culture" is fully assimilated into American society and it's whites in general who help perpetuate this image with blacks.

You know what's funny? I went to a high school in the suburbs and ALL the kids (White/Black/Yellow) that had interests other than rap, basketball, smoking and skipping class were nerds.
