You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Some people have drug habits, some people steal TVs and Cars to support said habit. Then again, some people steal them for the money. The youth steal them for a feeling of power in an environment where they have none. This isn't some "liberal sob" story. It's reality.
These "poor ghetto rats" have these chains and cell phones impressed upon them by a destructive culture perpetuated by racial stereotypes. They are basically told: "Here's your choices: Basketball player, Rapper, Drug dealer." Think about it: Do you have any white people impressing the symbol of "bling-bling" on young white kids? No, you don't.
Anyway, your omission to my correctness is clear. You first acknowledge that they live in "the ghetto". IE- They are poor. Second you knowledge that they are minorities. IE- Not the social, cultural or racial "desirables". This is precisely the core of the problem and it's reflected in other problems we have in the world as well. You stereotyping and generalizing damns others from escaping the stereotype. It's unbelievable to me (a minority) that you wouldn't see the co-relation between what happens out in society and what happens on the streets of impoverished neighborhoods when you are in fact living proof that what I'm saying is true.
