Will the world recover from the US regime?

Name: Anonymous 2005-12-18 12:54

I can heartily accept the evils of the past man. Corruption, emprisonment, wars, racism, slavery, rape, no rights, no food- evil. But that was the evil of truth. Hitler said: fuck the Jews. Lenin said: fuck the Capitalists. Caesar and Napolean said: fuck the world. They did these things in order to reach a purpose, by whatever means necessary, and people accepted their side effects.

But these men were up against the world, they did not act as its constable. They did not claim freedom, truth, and human rights. When did democracy become a dirty word? Will rights and freedom continue to be destroyed in their own name?

Is there absolutely any chance of a man having hope of a better future? The United States of America was supposed to be this hope, and it fell through almost immediately as it reached capacity. Is this just the cycle of things? How much worse off are we going to become as Capitalism and technology advances?

- Hitler said fuck the world too.
- Julius Cæsar didn't do anything wrong. He fucking owned, and I'm positive he was much better than the current bullshit leaders (bush, chirac, zapatero, ...) we have.

Democracy is just another government system. I'd rather ask, when did democracy become a good word? Democracy's biggest accomplishment was to find a way to glorify itself and make everything else look crappy.

Hey, finally someone with a little sanity on these boards.
Indeed, about a couple months ago I just didn't give a damn. Then again, the state of things, and where they are headed, is no good right now. Maybe it's a cyclical thing, where bad things happen so good things can take place, but... How far will this go? We face an unprecedent quantity of advacements, and yet there are some truly basic problems that can't or just won't be solved, because the people that can help just don't care.

Can you actually give any recent examples of the U.S. "destroying rights and freedom," or should I just regard this as another bong-inspired paean by another angry leftist?

Angry leftist? I'm one of the most conservative people I know, perhaps you mean someone who believes in the Constitution and basic human rights? Does that make me a radical leftist- because I have morals and respect the world, and can remember more history than what scrolls along the CNN marquee?

If you have never seen the abundance of well-documented injustices committed by the US, then you're closing your eyes. No amount of proof can open them, sorry buddy. If you want a straw tire to burn, go back to posting on your partisan blogs.

Of course, pass this off as a defense rather than an apology letter, because that's easier than doing the job burdened upon you as being a citizen of a democracy.

Yes, precisely. </sarcasm>

Since you're such a champion of "basic human rights," I presume you have no qualms about the U.S. and allied countries establishing democratic governments in Afghanistan and Iraq? Or do you insist that these actions were "illegal" because they did not sufficiently "respect the world" and its right to make money off the backs of the Iraqi people?

I love it when people try to justify imposing their wacko views by saying "Well, what do those stupid masses know anyway!"

>>3
Those "basic problems" could be solved if we strengthened the economy to produce more oppurtunities to everyone and people more economic freedom by destroying protectionism and making sure governments respect property rights (especially in Africa where kleptocratic governments don't and mire business in endless regulations, the cost of which to its citizens is clearly visible) instead of sinking cash into an endless hole. That's what's been happening for past few decades and surprise, suprise, there's still poverty in Africa and places around the world. In fact, unless there's a case of an emergency, when you give aid to a country you're actually hurting the farmers and business there. After all, why buy grain when it'll just fall from the sky? The market price of grain plummets and farmers are struggling just to pay their expenses, let alone make a profit. Canada, The United States and The European Union sure as hell shouldn't be paying farm subsidies. Give those farmers from South America and Africa a chance in the market. Globalization is the answer.

Oh yes, "closing your eyes." The same tired cliche I hear from just about every loon I come across. Quite a few of them have this pathlogical obsession with potraying the United States in worst light possible, facts be damned. I also loved how they swallowed "reports" from whatever source supported their view without question. They also seemed reluctant to face the realities of the situation as it is now by focusing on past mistakes to support their wishful thinking.

Don't you know? It's an "illegal" occupation even though foreign troops in Iraq have a mandate from the UN to be there because "Bush lied."

What are these realities you speak of? More scandals, worsening public opinion, more ridicuously biased US news coverage than ever before?

You are a retard and are the source of the problems we face today. I'm sure that's a tired cliche to your ears as well.

NO U
More scandals, worsening public opinion, more ridicuously biased US news coverage than ever before?
Bingo, mostly.  There aren't more scandals per se, just more coming to light to undermine conservatives and Republicans because the US mainstream media is, as you said, ridiculously biased.  However, it's to the left, not right.

You are a retard and are the source of the problems we face today.
How so?  I thought that he hit it dead on.  The only thing he missed is that the cause of inequity and poverty in the world today is, in the most basic sense, an unequal distribution of democracy in the world today.

Honestly, the fact that the only thing in your reply making sense actually *agrees* with >>10, I'd question who the retard and source of our problems today really is.

Dude...how does that negate anything he said? Do you really believe the shit that pours out of your mouth or are just trolling? I don't know what your fucking problem is, but I love it when TRUTH GOT TOLD stops by for a visit. I don't care if he's dressed up like a wolf or King Kong (YOUR MOM)

False premise. The US being the "last best hope" is mythological propaganda, which is a necessary element of building Empire. People are waking up to the BS, which is why we're being bombarded with new propaganda pretty much constantly.

Don't change these.
