Punk is the most untalentd genre I've ever come across my whole life. That includes "emo" because it's an offshoot of punk. It's not as complex as instrumental bands because they rely heavily on vocals for the main melody, which consists of some guy shouting and can't actually merit into a good melody.

Old punk was punk. There was the Stooges and the Electric Eels, and the Weirdos and the Ramones, there was the Bad Brains, and there a bazilllion tiny lil bands who have been put on Killed By Death comps. they were regularly threatened, and most likely visited upon with real violence. Nowadays, there is Hot Topic and well, Avril is considered a punk. It used to be by huge jocks, now the violence is being threatened by 13-yr-old metal heads. You all suck and listen to shitty music.
