I love music that can have strong emotional meaning behind the lyrics, or with the lead singer actually showing emotion, rather than the senseless screaming to the backdrop of shitty music. I'm not talking about emo music....that's just basically "WAHHH I'M GETTING RICH OFF OF SAYING MY LIFE SUCKS WAAHHHH BAWWWWW I HAVE NO TALENTS BUT I'M RICH HAWWWW WAAHHH BAWWWWW". I want something kinda true.

Most music is emotional, or tries to convey emotions, or something like that. unless you're only source of music is radio, you should be able to find some pretty easily. I can recommend Sleater-Kinney, off the top of my head.

music that fits into the emo genre always bugged me because it doesn't seem emotional to me, the lyrics are mostly self-centered bullshit and the singers all try to sound the same.
Some of Craig Armstrong's song are pretty emoive, but I wouldn't call them emo.

Try some 'They Might Be Giants'.
Like many of my fellow nerds, a strong unrequited love exists within me. Listening to 'Withered Hope' made me feel like such an Emo until I realised it was actually quite an upbeat song... it just had depressing lyrics.
I think it was John Flansburgh who said that publicly crying doesn't entice sympathy from him, and that the most depressing person in the world is the person who hasn't quite grasped the fact that he has a terrible life and is depressed.

How about Sunny Day Real Estate. Texas Is The Reason. Real emo to begin with, none of this nu-emo shit that pollutes everyone's minds into thinking whining and being sad is emo.
