paying for things that don't exist

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-26 23:25

Right now, I have to say that paying for "ebooks", which is not books, and not even an object, is not for me.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-26 23:52

I'd like a hard copy of it before I buy it. Like I won't buy a game on steam or something. I'd rather go to the store and have the actual CD.

So I would be an e-book if they give me a physical copy of it to reuse.

It's the ultimate goal of the Jew to sell you things that don't cost the Jew anything to create or copy.

Correct. The copyright law is a good example of the insidious jew's tactics. The jew will argue that paying for an ebook is supporting the writer, encouraging them to make more books. A compelling logic, but it is a jew-truth, a lie. Writers make AT MOST 17% off the price of an ebook. Where does the rest of the money go? It costs virtually nothing to produce an ebook. But it does cost a lot to line the pockets of the secret cable of jew publishers, who start to get 100% of the ebooks price within five years of the publishing date. Utterly lousy. There are a small group of independent writers who are not affiliated with the jew-monopoly on publishing. These people take advantage of the low price to produce an ebook and sell their book to you for a fair price, receiving most of the money for the book (of course the jew will still get a cut because you need a middlejew like Amazon to sell online). But in these cases I fully support paying for ebooks and supporting non-jews, god knows we need some support.

what the fuck

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-27 7:36

It does sometimes get that high but usually only if you're a successful author with millions in previous sales. Most debuts wll be earning 12% until they've sold 100,000 then it might move to 15%.

So-called "ebooks" are nothing more than a hipster fad.

I wouldn't expect a Stormfronter to know what he's talking about. Nevertheless, If you pay for an "ebook", you're a moron. It's as simple as that.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-27 7:57

>>7
How much do you think authors get paid as a percentage of the price then? And provide sources since my source is Google.com I'm curious to see your rebuttal. And who are you calling Stormfronter? What kind of retarded insult is that? It makes no sense! And I don't know what I'm talking about? You're the one that seriously thinks ebooks are a fad. How naive and stoopid are you seriously?

I really don't give a shit. Most of the authors out there worth reading gain income from sources other than their writing.
You're the one that seriously thinks ebooks are a fad. How naive and stoopid are you seriously?
Project Gutenberg and such exist, and I'm for archiving public domain works digitally, but this modern ebook bullshit is exactly that, bullshit. There's not much of an advantage of having DRM-laden ebooks where having manufacturers dictate how you should store and read material that you've bought with your money. Not to mention a bunch of it is run by IP sharks that will sue people at the drop of a hat.

... but you are saying that I don't know what I'm talking about when I state percentages? What is wrong with your peabrain?

According to what standards? Most "serious writers" make a living as a direct result of book sales. Have you ever tried writing a book? Notice how you can write a better book when your whole day is dedicated to it? If you're serious about writing books that is all you do. Obviously we're talking fiction here.

The rest of your post was exceedingly retarded. The ebook market will evolve over time, replacing much of the paper print market.

What? Like the retarded TV personalities that write books extolling the virtues of bullshit like homeopathic "medicine"? Or the people who write books on astrology? Please.
fiction
Ah, fictional subjects. Any good book on that is automatically in the public domain, so that's a moot issue.
The rest of your post was exceedingly retarded.
Apparently you've never heard of DRM and the companies that hound people over "intellectual property" rights. My library on paper will still be around in a 100 years time. I cannot say the same for a portable ebook reader, especially its data.

Paying for DRM'd content is stupid.  If you really have to, first make sure you can break the protection and dump the data into a nice free format like ps or DjVu.  Your paper library will be rotten in 100 years time, as rotten as your own body.  My digital library of DRM-free content will hopefully still be mirrored in at least five different places on various storage systems, including optical media.  So kiss my shiny encrypted ECC'd DRM-free ass.

Don't change these.
