Project Gutenberg and such exist, and I'm for archiving public domain works digitally, but this modern ebook bullshit is exactly that, bullshit. There's not much of an advantage of having DRM-laden ebooks where having manufacturers dictate how you should store and read material that you've bought with your money. Not to mention a bunch of it is run by IP sharks that will sue people at the drop of a hat.
