I leared there are no protection laws for families of Autistic children from eviction of noise violations caused by the children. I'm founding an advacacy program called AFEAR-Autistic Families Evicted for Autistic Reasons. We as parents are under extenuating circumstances when it comes to noise. And no matter how hard we try there is going to be a lot of noise. And the more we try to control the behaviors that cause the noise the more noise there is going to be. It is not that the parent doesn't try, it's the child's disability, something that cannot be controlled, that is causing the trouble.

I want to changed the law giving parents of Autistic children "extenuating cirucmstances" of noise violations and disregarding the noise caused by the Autistic child. Yes, the people living at the complex have a right to live in a peaceful environment but the parents of Autistic children have the right to not be harrased by intolerant neighbors and management.

Anyone care ot join me?

I think that's incredibly selfish of you. I came here expecting support for my condition, but this is just out of line and feeding people a sense of entitlement that they do NOT deserve. What if the person who lives next door to you has to work in the morning? What if the person next door to you is kept awake all night? Sleep deprivation is a technique used in Guantanamo bay...do you really want to be that evil?

I'm surprised you even CONSIDERED posting this. Maybe if you are such a trouble to your community you should consider moving to somewhere more rural. what's teh next step?

My name is Shannon and I am one of the Group Leaders in the Autism Support Group. I recently was notified that you posted for the first time in our group.

I did edit your post to remove what appeared to sound like you calling people with autism "little monkeyshines". When there is name-calling, the group leaders will edit posts.

If you notice, no one had responded to the person's post. I do not agree with an uprising as well, but at times we do need to let people vent.

I was not referring to autistic people as monkeyshines, but rather the acts that some (on the extreme end of the spectrum) get up to as monkeyshines. I was not aware that this was an offensive term, and apologise.
The post I made was serious though, instead of someone suggesting that they should be able to cause noise without recrimination, a better suggestion would have been to get together and make an apartment building where everyone had autistic children.
That would have been less selfish.
