As some of you might know, I've been working on a dynamic tablecat flash calendar/clock/friend for use with the Windows (XP) active desktop feature. Basically what it does is it places a small window on your desktop with tablecat in it telling you the date, time and - depending on the season, time and whether or not it's currently one of the programmed "holidays" - a cute little message or sjis art. Right now there's one standard message per season, one for night time and about 20 holidays. I may add more if I see fit and it should update automatically for anyone who has it set up.
To set it up you will need two things: ≫Windows 98 or newer, but not Vista or 7. I don't know how this tool can be integrated in these two versions but Active Desktop is no longer available for those. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_desktop#Later_usage if you want to experiment ≫A recent version of Internet Explorer (available for free on Microsoft's website) with a flash plugin installed (see adobe website). The reason for this is that Active Desktop uses IE and you need a new-ish version to display the tablecat flash content, it seems.
Now to get it working, right click your desktop and go to properties, then to the Desktop tab. At the bottom click "Customize Desktop..." and got to the Web tab. Click New and in the Location paste the following:
Don't worry about the spaces. Press Ok and you should get a window notifying about a password. There is none so just click Ok and it'll start synchronising etc. Once all that is done, just click your way out of the desktop settings windows (click Ok a few times) and it should work.
To move the window, hover over it for a second and a border will pop up on top which you can drag it by and a few additional settings.

SEPTEMBER 15 VIVA MEOWXICO IS A TABLECAT HOLYDAY

September 15 is the anniversary of the eve of the War for Mexican Independence
It's also the day a Mexican guy obtained a patent for the color television. As a result, Tablecat can now enjoy a more fulfilling Claymore and Bible Black experience
Trying to update it automatically but the host is being an anus and loading the old swf file even though I've deleted it already, so bear with me if it stops working for a while (which it shouldn't if you've set it to make the tool available offline).

Should be working now. Update it manually by going to desktop properties, customize desktop, web tab and clicking Synchronise. I didn't add much, it was more of a test update.
