Do westerns take shoes off?

Name: Anonymous 2009-12-20 20:19

I was kind of surprised as I visit a local austrailan's house and saw them still wearing their shoes on inside house. Is US and many other countries are like them?

American here, usually I don't. I wear flip-flops in the house and when I come home I usually immediately take my shoes off and put on my flip-flops. When I don't do this it's on a day when I'm constantly going in and out of the house for some reason.

I guess I'm an exception to this since most everybody I know wears their shoes in the house. I can't see why they do, it feels uncomfortable to me.

Same, I take off my shoes in most cases when I go into someone's house

Where do you live >>1?

In Canada we take shoe off because it wet with snow in Winter and caked with shit in Summer

I think the bigger question is, why do people in Canada only wear one shoe?

I always wear my shoes in the house... even when I go to other peoples house unless they tell me to take my shoes off... american here btw

Since the personal hygiene habits of most Westerners aren't as good as those of most east Asians, you really don't want them taking their shoes off in your home.  Though I will say that east Asians take the prize for worst breath.

I take my shoes off in my room. But not the rest of my house. I've noticed more and more Americans are taking shoes off in the house so as not to ruin the carpet. ASIAN DOMINANCE! ASIAN SUPREMACY!

Name: Anonymous 2009-12-22 18:20

Carpet is for fags. Even if you take your shoes off and all that it still gets dirty and becomes a haven for germs and other filth.

Polished hardwood floors is where it's at. ching chongs can keep their filthy asthma causing carpet where they sit on when eating and sleep on like dogs.

germanfag here, its common to take your shoes of in germany, but most people over here really spend a lot of time cleaning their house; mentality: my home is my castle and therefore it should be as pleasant and clean as possible

There's dog shit all over, party flattened, in the mud, in the natural growth.  I don't live in a concrete paradise like you, my friend.

Californian here.
Everyone I know wears shoes inside. But then, we drive everywhere, and the whole place is one big suburb, so there isn't much to get on your shoes.

Iowafag here,
you wouldn't believe the shit (literally)
that can get dragged indoors.
And the confrontations?
"Please remove your shoes."
"WUT YOU DONT TRUST US DEERRRP??"
Of course I don't.
Now take them filthy, pig-farming, disease bags
off of your ham-hock feet.
Rest assured, /lounge/,
I remove my shoes.

It's fairly uncommon in western culture to remove your shoes when entering a house.

Personally I hate shoes, its feet in a box and I take them off the moment I am in the door.
