-1/1 = 1/-1
sqrt(-1/1) = sqrt(1/-1)
i/1 = 1/i
i^2 = 1
-1 = 1

i don't know too much about complex stuff, but i'm guesing the second line is the invalid step that makes it crazy? someone explain.

Yes, because square roots actually have 2 answers, there are several cases to consider.  Example, square root of 25 is 5 but also -5.

Regardless, it's still true that:

i2 = -0.999...

i is a lie.
One of the basic proof for i involves calculating graphs based on the assumption that i is in a whole 'nother dimension than real numbers. They put i on another axis than other numbers, like it's not on the same scale. Any middleschool kid can tell you that that's a big no-no. That's like putting all the sixes on one axis and all the other numbers on another axis, and then try to do calculations based on this. Imaginary numbers are just a product of professors with heads too far up their asses.

Don't change these.
