explain this math

-1/1 = 1/-1

sqrt(-1/1) = sqrt(1/-1)

i/1 = 1/i

i^2 = 1

-1 = 1

i don't know too much about complex stuff, but i'm guesing the second line is the invalid step that makes it crazy? someone explain.

Yes, because square roots actually have 2 answers, there are several cases to consider. Example, square root of 25 is 5 but also -5.
