Police have arrested a third suspect in connection with a triple homicide last month in Medicine Hat, Alta.
Kacy Lancaster, 19, of Medicine Hat is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
Lancaster was arrested Wednesday and appeared in court on Thursday morning, when she was remanded in custody. She will be back in court May 11 for a bail hearing.
A Medicine Hat couple and their eight-year-old son were found slain in their home on April 23.
Their 12-year-old daughter and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Jeremy Steinke, were arrested. Each was charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
At a bail hearing Tuesday, Steinke was ordered to undergo a psychiatric review to see if he's fit to stand trial.
The 12-year-old girl, whose identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act, made a brief appearance in youth court on Monday. Her case was put over until June 2.
>> IMHO, you would be putting yourself and your GF in an extremely awkward position, especially after considering this incident. Not many parents would be accepting of a relationship like this, especially if they knew about the triple homicide in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. My advice is, keep it as a "friendship" until she is at least 16. Once she turns 16, there isnt anything that neither the Canadian nor the American Governments and legal systems can do to stop you two from being together.
BTW, I don't know whether I would condone a relationship like that, but the decision is yours, not mine. So I figured you should know all of this so that you can make an informed decision instead of an impulsive one.
FYI:
Minors can have sex in Canada at age 14.
Minors can have sex in U.S.A. at age 16.
