Abusive mother

If your mother was an abusive monster while you were growing up and dependent on her, would you forgive her now you are an adult? She is still a nut case that never got help and still thinks it is "everyone else". This is a person with a hair trigger temper who would beat her kids to the ground almost every day until we were old enough to leave home/run away. I will never forgive this lunatic. Never. Anyone else?

My mom is a cunt, she chose an abusive molesting drinker over me, she can rot in hell, heck I haven't spoken to her in 18 years, but I walked by her the other day at the bank, she didnt even recognize me.

Mine wasn't abusive, but overprotective. Which is sorta the same, except on the opposite pole.

She sure fucked me up badly, and I still can't get my life in proper order. But at 24 I'm now past the period of hate. I know the bigger picture now, and see she was just a poor woman acting pretty much on her maternal instinct. With best intentions. In moments of anger, when things in my life don't go as they should and I can't handle them because I never had a chance to learn how to, I sometimes still silently blame her. But overall I'm just sorry for her, bite my tongue, and try to help her live her life in peace.
