I've punched plenty of people in the face for mouthing off and I haven't been arrested yet.

So would a good approximation to the level of violence I should use is not to draw blood or cause visible bruising? That would make me feel like a wife beater, I want what I do to be visible. So I should do this in public, if someone insults me privately, I take them into a public place and start slapping thme around or something.

Somewhat related story. Would you do the same? (I probably would :P)

A guy I've recently met was talking to this lady at one time on a bus. The woman is going on about how she regrets moving to this town when there's a lack of any nice people, while the guy kept trying to convince her otherwise. Meanwhile there was an arrested man being led by police into the same bus. If you looked at him, you could tell he could'ive been high on crack or meth. As he's getting led to the back by police, he asks the one lady to move over. As she does, she screamed when the criminal gave her a pinch on the butt. One seconed later and the guy sitting next to the woman leaps at the criminal and punches the living s-h-i-t out of him, until there was blood smeared on both his fists.
I'm not exactly sure how the rest went, but I don't think the police made any more arrests after the fight :P
