will this be strange

there are like no kids or young people in my area except for two boys down the street who are maybe 10 or 11 years old. would it be weird for me to befriend them? god knows anything can be misconstrued as inappropriate when it involves children. i'm 20, but hell, it'd be good just to have anyone, a retard or alien to kick a ball around with or something.

It would greatly reduce the creepiness, if you befreinded them through legitimate contact. Say hello to them and their parrents whenever you passed by. Hire them to mow your lawn/rake leaves/shovel snow etc. Just generally establish yourself as a nice guy (and know there names) before you go over and ask if they can come over and play...

Also be carefull about spending a lot of time alone inside with them. Try to be out doors or near the parents as much as possible, so that you have a lot of people who witness you not being a child molester.
