I am in college and I have no friends at all. I don't even talk to my roommate. I am so lonely.

I also didn't talk to my roommate at all last year, and I found it hard to meet people.  You should join a club that suits your interest, and simply force yourself to go to it, go to all the club social events, and try to talk to people while you're there.  If you do that, you should be able to meet at least a few people who aren't total aliens to you.

I should be in college. Long story short, I lost a school year and now I'm attempting to finish grade 12 DD:

When I have problems talking to people it's usually because they're really really boring and I don't want to talk to them.

I don't talk to people in college either. Mostly because they're boring and banal.

The internet with its vast population and the option to associate with people far smarter than myself (why am I here again?) have made me resistant to socializing with those who are at best my equals.

Unfortunately this means I'll never get laid. Oh well.

Atleast I know there exists losers like me. I am still fucking lonely.

I'm not saying be an elitist but then I believe that its just an utter waste of time to be socializing just for the sake of looking good in the social circles. You should socialize with ppl who you feel you are able to connect to.

Each time i move to a new area (high school, college etc), I usually take like a term or two before I find that close group of friends that I belong to. I might not be Mr. Popular but at least I know these friends are genuine.

And trust me I did try to throw myself in socializing one day one and it turned out ugly. A term or two late, the people who I got close with turned out to be total fakers and were just being nice just for the sake of being nice.

Bottom line is people have their own set of times on which they are comfortable with. Not everyone can start making real friends on day one.

Yeah. Well. Congratulations on that deep insight. If you don't need to look good or get off on being popular, you obviously don't need to waste your time with that.

Don't worry, just keep yourself clean and talk to people at random about things and never say the same joke twice and unless you are living in some strict social climate where all outsiders are frowned apon you'll make friends.
