I'm looking for a life experience. I'm working towards a degree to teach English abroad (not necessarily Japan). Problem is I don't have one yet, I'm 3 1/2 years away.
I'm wondering if I could travel to Japan on a Working Holiday Visa for Canadian citizens.
And use that to teach English in Japan over the summer as a test drive to see if I should continue on this life path as well as bank some cash for school. I heard the only reason you need a degree is to get a work visa in the first place, and this is a one time thing. What do you think, possible?

Teaching English in Japan isn't really a "life goal". English teaching is something you do until you get a better job. If you're still working at random eikaiwa or in some company that loans you out to middle schools by age 30, you're doing something wrong.
Most TESL certifications aren't even really applicable in Japan. I'm sure it might put you above other candidates, but it's not what it is in other countries like China or Korea.

Well, teaching English is an entry-level job in Japan. As long you're a (preferably) white, English speaking foreigner; you can get a job without credentials. But a degree will certainly make you more qualified, and you can earn more.

Teaching English merely need u nothing in China. You can teach English if you are from US. That's enough. i got an old couple from California or WTF. They are 60+ old. Just to fooling us making money. OLD FARTS!! They playing Hollywood movie
