Moot do you even read this board any more?
Anyways, it's getting so bad that there are once again threads dedicated to people circle-jerking over dubs and trips. Seriously, it's getting to be as bad as the ponyfags.
>CHEK OUT MAH DUBS
>OH WAIT 1/10 CHANCE SO LET'S JUST KEEP SPAMMING REACTIONFACES UNTIL I GET THEM
>OH LOOK ANON GOT DUBS, GUESS THAT MEANS IT'S TIME FOR A REACTIONFACE
Also the 'XXX' didnt stop people from doing those threads. People made scripts to get around it.

I'd say /b/ and /v/. Most other boards are more civilized (depending on your definition of it) and don't seem to put up with that kind of rampant bullshit.
/b/ can maybe get away with it because it's /b/ but /v/ takes it to a whole new level (otherwise decent threads descend into faggotry the moment someone gets dubs/trips). Just something that I've noticed. I'm aware getting around this is really easy but it's undeniable the quality of boards improved after the fact.
Of course Mods could possibly be banning this stuff already but unless Anon sees (USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST) they won't have any incentive to stop.

Probably for the same reason forced anon, party hats, music, backgrounds etc are removed. Once they serve their purpose there's no real point to keep them around forever.

You should write moot a long and articulate email, he tends to listen/respond to those

I should, but then I discovered this textboard and thought it should actually be put to use. That and I was looking for input from other Anons to see what they think.

It didn't do shit back when it was put on /v/
Dubfags gonna dub. Deal with it.
Also, check my 13.

Dude, any l33t hacker, or amateur programmer can write a user script to bypass that easily, which they did back in the day, and i think 4chan x already does that.
I think moot should implement the post counting from the text boards on the imageboards.
Fuck GETs since everyone just floods whatever board they'll be on with shitty off-topic threads.

True, put part of history would be lost. Maybe the true post numbers should only be visible to the moderation team.

Or give each thread a unique number and number the replies starting from 1.

But wouldn't people just try and make new threads for gets then?

That would be horrible. Are dubs even that stupid? I mean we derailed threads with it that are worth derailing, but its the same shit and not related then. So instead of worrying about doubles, we should try to ignore them in my opinion.

That's the thing, it's rarely ignored. It's either one faggot who is posting over and over or more likely it snowballs once people start responding to them. Legit threads are completely derailed this way. If they just stuck to their own threads I won't have as much a reason to complain about them.
>>27
Maybe? I don't know but they'd at least look a lot more retarded this way.

When they were hid people just used unhiding tools.
>Or give each thread a unique number and number the replies starting from 1.
You wouldn't be able to link to a post outside of a thread, that's stupid.
>I mean we derailed threads with it that are worth derailing
That YOU decide are worth derailing. Half the time it's just a video game you don't like.

How often does that even happen? It's most commonly used for GETs and in the past, duckrolls.
Otherwise, when threads reach their limit nobody is bothered because the new thread will have its own number.
>>32 How often does that even happen?
All the time? I even manually use imgboard.php?res=xxx from time to time. Not to mention GETs and overall post counts are important.

Although i, like most people ITT know filters can easily be bypassed must agree with OP something has to be done about gets. They are cancer.

But look what the removal of forced anon and hidden post numbers did! /b/ has turned into a hang out for jackasses who have started using nick names. If people want to hang out and chat with others who they know and shit like that go to a chat site. But god damnit, do NOT turn 4chan into that. This along with the fact that half the shit on /b/ is either Spiderman, dubs get, or a fucking pony thread makes me want to rip my hair out. I've had to completely retreat from 4chan's /b/.
While on the subject of annoying threads I'd like to ask if anyone knows of or would be able to make a Greasemonkey script that would auto hide any thread whose first post has certain key words in it.

I've noticed a LOT of the bronies and people from /a/ that come on /b/ have started using names and shit. I think it is almost as much of a annoyance as the dubs get threads. But maybe that's just me.
Wouldn't this ``dubs'' shit simply be an evolution of postGETs since time immemorial? It would make sense since a major milestone GET on /b/ is now every 100 millionth place post, or 50 millionth at the very least.
It's sad that it exists, though, since it even happens on these boards, and it has lowered the quality considerably.

There are freakouts over any set of repeating numbers these days. Though I suppose the more numbers that repeat the more people who will freak out when seeing it.
GETs are dead and have been for years now that everyone wants to get one.

It used to be a refuge from those escaping normals.
Then the normals came.
I approve of hidden numbers (on ALL fucking boards), forced anonymous (on /b/), moderators (lol), and the option for OPs to delete posts in their own threads. What I wouldn't give for that last one, yeah, trolls would use it, but so would legitimate posters.
Also, ONLY secure tripcodes. None of this !LOOKATMYNIGGERCOcK and people who are so autistic they respond to their stupid bullshit.
I'm sure there's more than 20 faggots on /g/ who only have high-end gpus so they can hash through tripnames

>>42 Also, ONLY secure tripcodes. None of this !LOOKATMYNIGGERCOcK and people who are so autistic they respond to their stupid bullshit.
The problem with having secure tripcodes only is that they completely lack portability over different imageboard sites. That's why they're secure. The big problem with that is if a particular person needs to be verified, there needs to be a resource to be able to go by. Xarn does such with his ``About me'' page on his site, of course not everyone who posts with a name does. Also, some tripcode implementations are different, so you end up with different output on some sites as well. There should be some kind of standard for this, and I think that imageboards have become popular enough to warrant such a need.
