Thinking of starting a small imageboard.

However I run into one slight problem. I have no idea what server I need to get and I have hardly any money whatsoever to rent one out. I understand the instructions for most of the software, however I just need a good server to install it on.

Anyways the imageboard I am thinking about making is just a small one with possibly three boards.

/cartoon/ - Cartoons
Only a board for cartoons, instead of "Cartoons & Comics" or just "Comics" as seen on 7chan.

/avatar/ - The Last Airbender
Another Avatar board (as seen on plus4chan), just because I want one.

/iwtbtlg/ - I wish to be the little girl.
Basically a board for all of the "I WISH TO BE A WOMAN" threads that get started on /co/. I just named the board this because this seems to be a popular meme. I have been debating on /moot/.

Anyways I need some good imageboard software and a good host to host such an image board as such. However I have also debated on adding a /boxxy/ board, just so this whole controversy could be solved here. Anyways I need help anonymous.

I'm not >>5 but he posts the best advice. Wakaba (http://wakaba.c3.cx/) is a nice imageboard script written in perl. If you're really serious with starting a board go with that. There's a support board there to help you as well.

Also take a look at this thread: http://dis.4chan.org/read/img/1229757121 lots of imageboard scripts were posted on there and maybe you'll find even more in the link that >>5 posted. Good luck.

I own a chan, shit sucks.  Don't start a chan unless you are a complete dumbass.  Having said that Kusaba X is fucking awesome as far as imageboard software goes.
