What were you playing in 1999? Did you have a Dreamcast? Did you have some other console? Oh, and any specific fond memories in particular?

I remember going on vacation to Alaska before the DC was released. I saw this awesome video game store at this HUGE mall it was like xbox huge and they had pokemon playing on the television and gamefan magazine in the racks and they had a fucking dreamcast hooked up before it was out in the states. Shit was so cash. Played the fuck out of sonic adventure.
Also remember going to a video game tournament before the DC was released here. It was at some store locally and they had a bunch of DC systems hooked up with various games. And one of the tournaments involved power stone. Shit was crazy. I won one of the tournaments and got free vidya.

In the year 1999 I owned an N64 and the PS1. Sometimes I would play PC games but other than MoH AA my memories of them are hazy. My younger brother broke the PS1 in 2000/2001 so I never experienced many classics back then. I did have and love Croc (might have been PC), Crash, Spyro and a Harry Potter game as well as a few others.
I do have some very fond memories of the Dreamcast. Particularly this one occasion. I was ushered to a party of one of my parents friends and their kids had a Dreamcast. They were all competing on SC1,the eldest child constantly winning with Astaroth, and naturally I was 'allowed' a shot.
Basically, I chose Kilik and, like Kid Gohan, my hidden power levels were unleashed. For some reason the other players had never tried button combinations or blocking. One by one I stomped them until it was the eldest kid's go. She actually understood that you could do certain moves by pressing more than one button. Still beat her, and again in a rematch, upon which she cried for her Father to play against me.
I beat him too. The girl was left crying and her manchild father now disliked my ten year old self. From that day forth I learned to control my extraordinary power levels lest they cause such carnage again.
I also remember going around my cousin's and having my mind blown by all the amazing Dreamcast games
The only thing that I can really remember is playing a lot of Everquest, and having a hard time searching for a memory card for the Dreamcast. Oh, that and starting Sonic Adventures OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Sadly I never got on of those badass VMUs.

This, and several others on the N64: SSB, SM64, Mario Kart, Wave Race, and, my all-time favorite, F-Zero X.

I remember playing my SNES mostly and a ton of Super Mario Kart and F-Zero, my brothers had an N64 that I didn't play too much of, and I wanted a Dreamcast like crazy. My parents never bought me one, but I did get one pretty recently. Playing the Sonic Adventure demo at Toys R Us made me dead set on getting one at the time, but alas.
We had a Genesis too at the time, but it was still really owned by my brothers, so I didn't play too much of it. Lots of Sonic 3 when I had a chance.

The Dreamcast is amazing I have 3 that are all vroken with the the same problem. They work perfectly with the exception that the controllers don't work at all. Heartbreaking stuff.
But I remember staying up from 8pm till 8am questing and chatting with people on PSO and playing Sonic Adventure 2 for the first time. Recent memories include playing 2 player games of Armada with my housemate for HOURS I think last time we started at around 9pm or something and with a break for ordering take-away and toilet breaks we played untill 2am the next day (technically 2 days later)
There's a very common and easy fix for that. I posted this on /v/ years ago with the exact problem and someone linked me to a site which I don't have anymore but.
The basic idea is you need to open up your dreamcast so you can see the insides you'll need to take the screws out and look for something near the front labeled the "F1 fuse". Now, using a pair of chopsticks or something similar you need to make the fuse touch itself by squeezing it together or if it's touching itself separate the fuse a little bit. You can probably find more information by googling dreamcast controller F1 fuse or something. An easy way to prevent this is after you've fixed it keep a controller ALWAYS plugged into port 1

I remember playing sonic adventure, finally beating it, and having my games saves corrupt the next day.

I remember when Sega hired some people to promote the Dreamcast at our High school. No one bought a Dreamcast that decade. It's a real shame too. It was everything that XBOX is now but in a ironic hipster sort of way.

That's every resident evil game ever. The game designers put more emphasis on discovering poorly designed puzzles than they did on combat between you and the unorganized zombies.
