Refurbished DS Lite Question

Hey everyone -

I've had my original DS Lite since it was released on the market, and the warranty is long since past. Since a few of my buttons are starting to give out on me, I'm electing to replace it with a refurbished DS Lite unit that Nintendo offers at a discount to out-of-warranty users. However, there's a catch - I want to change the color I have to a black DS Lite.

My question is this: Has anyone tried this option, and if so, what accessories or parts are included with this refurbished unit? The product page says that the unit does not include the 'stylus, Gamepak cover, AC Adapter, etc.'

I'm under the impression (It's that damn 'etc' that's got me confused) that I'll need to purchase a new stylus and Gamepak/GBA Slot cover in the color I want to switch to. However, I'm not sure if I need to purchase a new battery and battery cover. Is the battery and battery cover included with the refurbished DS Lite I will be sent?

I'm not entirely sure you can get another colour. It works that way if your DS breaks under warranty, so I'm sure the same rule applies.

Just ask, and if the person is nice enough, they'll allow it. It all really depends on that.

it MAY be cheaper to buy a new DS Lite. nintendo sells all the oterh stuff on their online store. You pay the discount price for said unit, but you may end up paying even more for the extra stuff to replace that they "claim" are missing. Hell for all we know, they took the parts, tossed them, forcing who ever buys it refurbished, to rebuy the stuff online from them. Spending even more money. Do the math, total price they are asking for the piece, then add up all the cost of the replacement parts, plus shipping. then compare to new-off-the-shelf prodect. Then decide.
