WTF are you talking about? You think FFVII would be have been as sucessful if it were 2D? Truth.

i do, but that's because I think all games should have remained at the SNES level.

Dragon Quest 8 used 3D well. :s

That's exactly why. FF7 devolved the videogame demographic with floods of people too stupid to be playing.

Negatory. I think a 3D remake of FF6 would be glorious!

Negatory. I think a 3D remake of every anime ever made with computer generated graphics would be digitally remastered and superior!

Query:  Could isometric Bioware RPGs be remade into full 3D or would they suck too much?  For example, remake Fallout or Baldur's Gate or Planescape, just turning everything into full 3D.  It would seem like a good idea, but then everything was designed for isometric, so would the levels so easily make a transition to 3D?

Not really. 3D invokes expectations of a 3D environment. Being able to climb over things, manipulate whatever you want, etc. Look at all the fire a 3D game that doesn't allow this draws, especially in the post-stealth/espionage era of 3D. Expectations for ingame widgets and doodads are riding very high unless the game bills itself as being ridiculously cartoony beforehand. (Unreal for instance.)
I know Fallout is pretty intensive but I've never played the other two since they're tied to that crappy D&D thing, so I don't know about those.
I know that Jagged Alliance would make the jump reasonably well though. Would be like squad-based MGS.

success != quality

In quite fac they're often antonyms.

I disagree, things should have remained 2d but upped the capability for producing it, namely things like resolution sprite amounts/sizes/animations, that sort of thing.
Oh wait, we're talking about rpgs the genre I don't like right? Yeah there's really nothing you can't do with that level of hardware that is necessary for making turn based dice rollers.

Either troll harder or come off it, as if those games were shitty enough you want them to give a shot at fucking them up even harder?
>>11
I hope you don't like final fantasy or dragon quest either because they're both tied to D&D as well, but I agree, dice rolling is for faggots.

And that's not trolling? Do you just completely despise Turn-Based RPGs or do you have some sort of weird taste in games? FF6 and CT are probably the two finest JRPGs i've ever played other than Suikoden II.

Turn based is for tabletops, if you're looking up to that as a 'design' of videogames then you have no idea what a videogame is.

Castlevania DS pulled it off pretty well.

Don't change these.
