why do so many poeple hate xbox's and xbox 360's so much all the games I played on xbox have been very good, and the grafixs are much better than alot of games on the ps2 and game cube.

Xbox 360 Live is a great network, but there really aren't any games to fall in love with.

on the 360 looks fucking awsome and my curent computer cant play it on nice settings god damn now I'm torn between getting an Xbox 360 or building a new computer. Fuck I only got $1600USD
and the computer will cost something like $1200-1400USD urrg.
But the 360's only 400 but theres not alot of games for it right now but I'll have $1200 left over after I get the 360, but I really want to build a new computer! FUCK! arg.
Get the 360 and keep the leftover money to buy more future titles. Spending over $1000 to get a gaming experiance that might be a little better than a $400 360, to play a game, Is a terrible waste.

You should wait a little bit on building your computer, see whether the next step up on video cards is worth it. If it ain't, wait until they're released anyway so the price drops for whatever you want. Plus Oblivion will have some mods out by then. Also is there anything else you want on the 360? Don't make the mistake us EB fans did when getting the N64! (Don't forget that you'll be able to play almost all the US 360 games when you build your new computer.)

I'd really like to know how Halo would have been any better sans Microsoft. Yes, the early demos looked like it was an RTS by showing the Warthog and other vehicles moving around and the player moving in third person, but how do you know the game would actually be like that instead of it just being a graphical demonstration?

a lot of it comes from the fact that graphics are already to a point where 3D games look really nice, and updated graphics are about the only new offering. for the most part all they can do to flesh out the graphics more above this gen isto add details you'll only notice when zoomed in.
Played the PC version of Halo. Kinda sucked when compared to the Xbox version. Not on graphics or anything like that. Just didn't feel like Halo.
Plus, Wasn't Halo supposed to come out for the Macintosh?

A lot of people claim it would have been a completely different game, like an RTS-FPS hybrid, just based on the Macworld video. I've seen no evidence that the game would have been different though.

I aquired a 360 off my brother for £50 after his Red-Ringed-of-Deathed on him, and I got it fixed by Microsoft for free.
Despite all this though, I can only bring myself to play Geometry Wars and nothing else because the cost of regular games (for not much more content-wise from last-gen consoles) is still too high that it affects my overall enjoyment of the game. It seems to 'force' you to have fun as you've just spent all that money.
All quite futile really.
