Super Robot Wars: PWNED by Uncle Sam?

Damnit, I'm really annoyed that not even ONE SRW game has officially been released in the States. Yes, I know, licensing issues, but if that's the only problem, why don't they just translate the Original Generation games? Are they afraid it "wouldn't sell"? I'm beginning to think the US is permanently screwed in the "strategy RPGs with giant robots" department.

In my experience, the "gaming community", as it is, is mostly a bunch of young (and thus insecure), hypercompetitive men.  There's a very real social hierarchy, just like any subculture.  It's fairly natural to fall into the hierarchy if one is a hardcore gamer.

Thank God I'm no longer a hardcore gamer.  :)  As I sit here with my GeForce3 and ponder buying my next computer from Dell instead of building it myself, I'm just grateful that I've finally grown out of it.
