A lot of herbs and supplements do nothing or have no noticeable affect despite claims made.  Other supplements do have noticeable effects, which at least allows you to stick with the ones that you know work.  And yes, a lot of these are wastes of money.

CoQ10- Noticed increase in energy (hard to explain, heart energy seems greater for a while)
Ginseng- Noticed increase in  natural energy, similar to caffeine
Ginkgo Biloba- Increased thought process, can lead to stress
Melatonin- a natural sleeping pill that helps regulate sleep when you stay up at the wrong hours
Vitamin E/Omega-3/Fish Oil- Increased thought process or tiredness
Papaya extract- Natural anti-gas tablets that work rather well
Chamomile/catnip- Sleep inducing
Creatine- Muscle mass, no change noted
Focus Factor- a scam multivitamin.  Avoid.
Red marine algae- Said to reduce mouth sores, possible placebo
Red Wine extract- Antioxidants/heart function, no change noted
Bilberry- Said to improve eyesight, no change noted.

MSM and Coral Calcium are frauds.

Good site is Quackwatch. The owner is a bit of a fanatic, but he backs up his rants with valid data. Funny, most alt-meds have never undergone scientific testing, and some that have failed. People do not understand that natural foods/altmeds are massive money machines.

Psilocybe fruiting bodies are typically small, undistinguished mushrooms with a typical "little brown mushroom" morphology. Macroscopically, they are characterized by their small to occasionally medium size, brown to orange-white coloration, hygrophanous pileus, and a spore print-color that ranges from medium gray-brown to dark purple-brown (though rusty-brown colored varieties are known in at least one species). Hallucinogenic species typically have a blue-staining reaction when the fruiting body is bruised. Microscopically, they are characterized by cutis-type pileipellis, lack of chrysocystidia, and spores that are smooth, ellipsoid to rhomboid to subhexagonal in shape, with a distinct apical germ pore. Ecologically, all species of Psilocybe are saprotrophs, growing on various kinds of decaying organic matter.

The blue-staining species of Psilocybe are characterized by the presence of psilocin and psilocybin. The blue-staining reaction, while not completely understood, is thought to be a caused by a degradation reaction of psilocin, hence the degree of bluing in a Psilocybe fruiting body correlates directly with the concentration of psilocin in the mushroom. Psilocybin is chemically far more stable than psilocin, the latter compound being largely lost when the mushroom is heated or dried.

Nopal Strepta is a type of cactus, and it's used to help regulate blood sugar and insulin. It works very well in pre-dyabetic people, but if you're already diabetic, and take insulin you may be better off not using it, you MUST have your doctor adjust your prescription medicine/insulin or it could cause serious dammage.

Don't change these.
