/comp/ - Any way to ressurect my new harddrive?

Hi, i recently bought a nifty little 500GB harddrive for one of my laptops and just a day ago i accidentally dropped the laptop with the new 500gig harddrive in it, i did a lazy screwjob for the back of the laptop so the back casing of the laptop fell off and my HD was exposed. I hoped that it would be ok, but shit no. The laptop just acts as if there's no HD, not even a clicking sound or anything. Is there anything i can do myself without calling up some repair company?

Sounds like the HDD pins on your motherboard could be screwed up. It's not the hard drive though. Those are pretty tough.
