Word Processor

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-30 17:43

I just got a new computer, and in order to save cash, I haven't bought the Microsoft Office package (shit was like $100). Is there a good, free, word processor out there? The shitty default one that came with my computer has pissed me off for the last time.

Do you really need to process your words, isn't editing them good enough?

Just fucking pirate MS Office 2007? Plenty of seeders, and there are some torrents out there that had an activation crack inside a launcher (which is used to install the suite).

Abiword, it's free and way less bloated than openoffice or msoffice.

Open office and Abiword both work pretty well for me. Not so fond of Gnumeric, but haven't used it much so it might grow on me yet.

As a student, you can get legit MS Office for cheap.  Open Office is a joke.  If you have to use it, use Goo Office.  They are not beholden to Sun's whims.

Latex is for typesetting, not word processing. If you don't know the difference then maybe you shouldn't be using it.
