a fully updated windows xp sp2 system constantly crashes when i scroll through the Images directory in the users documents
it does NOT crash like this when scrolling through the same dir in safe mode, even though safe mode also shows previews of all the images, this makes me hope i can disable some media feature in xp to stop the problem
i don't know much about windows but i've tried turning off caching of preview-images, turned on the visibility of all hidden files, folders and systemfiles, and even tried turning off all those functions in media player that fetch info from the internets about media files
i'm out of ideas but i am going to scan the computer with clamwin and check out weird processes now and see if i find something, because the owner is not very good at computers and has a history of clicking on stuff in dialogues and e-mails
