What the fucks.

Build your own silent system.

Otherwise, £1,039.00 (ONE THOUSAND THIRTY NINE US DOLLARS) please!

I wouldn't even know where to begin in building my own silent system. Also, it would probably be shit. I just wanted something that works with minimum of hassle.

1. Pentium II processor and mobo. (or try some VIA mobo with integrated processor, I'm thinking about getting one)
2. 2.5" HD.
3. Low-wattage efficient PSU. (I'm afraid I know nothing of this topic)
4. No fans or very silent fans.
5. ????
6. Profit.

Also, www.silentpcreview.com.

The Intel iMacs are incredibly quiet and you don't have to pay for all the quirky extras. Even SPCR likes it a lot: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article594-page1.html and http://www.silentpcreview.com/article693-page1.html

"The 17" iMac has almost everything a silencer could want. It's quiet, efficient, good value (never thought we'd say that about an Apple), and it can even run Windows. It is also the only Core Duo-based "desktop" system currently available. We want one."

I spent a lot on huge heatsinks and $40 Papst 120mm fans and even rigged up a temperature-sensitive voltage switching device to cool down my homemade PC a few years back. Now I have an iMac, it's just as quiet as I achieved with all those specialist expensive parts but without the cost and stupid bother fixing shit all the time.

Good work on the Hush box, though. Those are awesomely cool, though you certainly end up paying for the clever design.

Silent Graphics cards, aka those cooled by a giant heatsink/pipe

ive seen a geforce 7600 gt fatality card that looks awesome with a big fucking heatsink on it

also.. its worth buying a zalman cpu cooler, or if your not wanting to play games or not play games as much get a fanless cpu cooler.. these do exist

and finally, get an anti vibration caddy thing for your hard drive to stop the vibrating

and.. er disc drives.. no idea

Don't change these.
