I'm picking up this guy's WiFi access point from my loungeroom, and I've been doing heaps of shit on it without him knowing what the hell's going on. I've downloaded probably 10GB without him knowing.
Anyway, I also gained access to his modem settings.. he didn't set a password.
So I thought it would be a good chance for me to set up DHT. I disable UPnP mapping in uTorrent, choose a port, set myself a static IP, then forward the port on his modem. I use my static IP and the port I chose, and set them for UDP and TCP.
But... I'm not getting DHT. I have no idea what the hell is going on. There's nothing on my end filtering it, and there's nothing in the modem settings stopping the port from working. I've even tried other ports, and tried changing my IP, but nothing even works.
The little port forward test in uTorrent says there's an error, and I can't get DHT on any torrent I try.
Anyone know what the hell's going on? The modem they're using is a D-Link DI-624.

What's going on is it's a DI-624. The router's a piece of crap, and you should be grateful it even works. Mine would crash within 5 minutes of any wireless connection being made to it. It would crash instantly if a second wireless connection was made.

One word, recompile your kernel. Thread over.

That's three words, as well as being an unfunny forced meme.

Actually a Winfag would think it's funny because recompiling is what Linux does best and then they brag that do so is user friendly.

You're a fucking tard. Compiling the Linux kernel is a piece of cake. Any dumbass can do it. gb2/1990.

Windows is shit, but having to compile anything is shit too

Proof positive that Linuxfags love to compile.

I use Windows on my desktop only because I have to. I have a server with FC5 on it and when I'm SSH'd in I enjoy it so much that sometimes I forget where I am and start touching myself. Your forced meme is still retarded and not funny.

ED speaks:
>A forced meme is an attempt at making one's attempt at humor a part of interweb history, or a meme.
What, you think this recompile bullshit is actually base in some real part of interweb history? One of those fucktards just made it up one day and decided to try to make it a meme.

It has a neat home-made feeling like eating your own cake.
But for me at least it always feels worse than using a precompiled bin, I feel like I've done something wrong.
Perfectionism...

please explain what is a GNU/Hippy and why does one waste "waste your time out of his bigotry and stupidity"?

A GNU/Hippy extends the open source developer class. He's an open source developer, but he has added faggotry and LSD. He has such radical views they stopped being serious 10 years ago. He tries so hard to not be like Windows, even if the only way of not being like Windows at some point is to be stupid. He wants to shove source code up your asshole, so he disapproves distributing anything useful out of the box. He wants you to waste 6 hours of your time compiling some piece of shit because he thinks it makes you freer.
