on a similar note, does anyone else get a problem with WMV's in VLC when you try to scroll? it goes fuzzy for a few seconds.... is there something i can do to make it stop?

TCMP or Zoom Player. VLC is a good allrounder, but sucks ass at softsubs and some formats.

Yes, use the Windows Media Player. VLC uses the ffmpeg wmv-codec.
Also: mplayer (self compiled without GUI [a gui sucks for thisprogram])

Media Player Classic gives me a few problems. I use it whenever BSPlayer shits itself, which currently is only with a third of the videos in those Japanese Commercial packs that were torrented ages ago.
