We can tell you why you shouldn't yet.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-05 11:22

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-05 14:36

It will be the best windows ever. It has very shiny buttons to press. I also heard you will get faster internet. Your friends will laugh at you for not getting Vista.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-06 2:13

it took xp 3-4 years to get any good, vista is the equivelant of beta software at the moment imo, just like xp was when it was first released

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-06 13:04

Vista is just some kind of hybrid mix between XP and Vienna anyway. Who would pay for a half finished product ?

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-06 21:09

eyecandy :3

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-06 21:56

Yeah, just wait for the next Windows OS.  XP will be supported for a few more years so no hurry.

Basically the answer is you shouldn't.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-08 1:29

Just wait about 3-6 months for Vista until most softwares and drivers get their shit put together. Alot of the softwares and drivers are fixed half-assed for Vista so give it some time.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-08 3:26

Get Vista cuz its iCool

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-08 3:52

iVista is iAwesome

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-08 4:55

iVista neeeds like 500 MB RAM to do iNothing. Every iApplication you run adds up those 500 MB. Yes, I have lots of RAM, but that's just sick. Also framerate in iGames is far worse than with XP.

Computers with only 512 MB of RAM and Vista Home BASIC run like shit.  eMachines naturally sells a Vista machine with a celeron and 512 MB of RAM and it runs (or rather doesn't) like it's six years old OUT OF THE BOX.

You need at least a gig or RAM for anything other than Home Basic as a minimum and a DirectX 9 card for Aero. Nothing runs quite right even if they are "For Vista".  Everyone still only has beta drivers out for their shit.  I've managed to completely kill RC2 twice by doing simple tasks (deleting files on my flash drive, running task manager/device manager, ect.) and lock it up  many, many times.  Granted, that was the second beta, but really, it's not that much different.  MS hasn't fixed much between the two.

Don't get Vista for at least six months if you want any of your shit to work.  Even then, seriously, just get a Mac, Vista blows.  I wish I was joking, but really, iMacs aren't so bad  with boot camp.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-10 15:30

iMacs aren't so bad  with boot camp

That's Windows running the programs not the Mac OS.  As for drivers, well, isn't that the manufacturer's job (or at least that's what the Linuxfags always say)?

Don't be a moron, why get Vista? Because of the ooooooooh kewwwl interface? Faggot. There's no single reason why you would want to get that piece of a shit attempt for an OS turned to a massive whale turd.

Just dual boot Kubuntu and Windows 2000. Get used to Kubuntu so you can make the transition, and leave Windows 2000 for existing games. DX10 PC games will suck, so you'll want to get an Xbox 360 or a PS3 or a Wii for that, so do it, and use your computer for everything else, for which you have Kubuntu and over 20000 absolutely free packages ready for you, and then commercial software.

I like Vista.
No, really. I'm having no problems with it (except for one mysterious "Unknown Device" in Device Manager) and I play tons of games and soforth, so I promise you, I'm not some word-processor-only n00b.
Of course, my machine is uber, so perhaps I'm just biased because my machine doesn't suck balls, and it runs Vista fine.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 6:27

>>36
Faggot, enjoy your DRM, and enjoy wasting your "uber machine" which Vista turns to an average machine in terms of performance.

Also, fuck off and GTFO, we don't want AIDS here.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 7:37

"No, really. I'm having no problems with it (except for one mysterious "Unknown Device" in Device Manager)"

Wow, what an incredible OS, the only one on the market to add virtual shit when it doesn't have real one.
But microsoft is right to do this, as long as there are morons like you to pay for it. Enjoy your AIDS.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 11:22

Vista sucks sure there's the new aero interface but it just got a lot slower, it has a lot of DRM, and it's from MICROSOFT, which means that it is an INSECURE and OVERPRICED piece of shit.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 12:52

I'm 36, and I gotta say, there're a lotta narrow-minded people in this thread. Oh well, not my concern. At any rate, I didn't pay for Vista. Also, it's working fine. I fail to see how Vista has turned my machine "average in terms of performance." I'm still super-flying all over the damned place.
Also, to >>38, XP does it too. Enjoy your commie Linux.

P.S. I will enjoy my AIDS, as the AIDS are quite enjoyable and worth-while to me. But I'm not willing to PAY for Vista, so y'know, they're not getting a new customer this way.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 12:54

That is to say, I'm >>36. The statement I made sounded like I was 36 years old.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 14:54

I tried Vista and now I'm switching back to XP.  A lot of my hardware isn't compatible with Vista: webcam, graphics tablet(off and on), etc.  Plus, Vista kept turning off my firewall.

We sent a message and the message was clear: PlayStation 3 is not an incremental upgrade for previous platforms, but it's truly designed to advance our vision for computer entertainment today and tomorrow. It requires huge financial investment -five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars-but we must take risks to reap the rewards. And as a global leader, our mission at Sony Computer Entertainment is to create products that truly inspire and entertain fans around the world.

The essence of the PlayStation's DNA is real change, and the consumers are ready. We're certainly not interested in gimmicks.

Ah... Genji 2 is an action game, which is based on Japanese history. Being based on history, the um... stages of the game will also be based on real battles which took actually took place in ancient Japan. So here's this giant enemy crab. What we'll do is flip over this crab on his back. And you attack its weakpoint, for massive damage. There are a lot of great new features for this game. Features as real-time weapon change...

So, what does all this mean? Simply put, RIIIIIDGE RACEEEEEEER!!!!!! We are giving the content creators unprecedented power to express their creativity and to the consumers to emotionally connect with and to enjoy the content that is created with a level of interaction, sophistication and reality that has never been experienced with any other platform. With PlayStation 3 we are taking it to the next level.

PlayStation 3 will retail for five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars - five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars - five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars...

Another exciting aspect is the ability for consumers to make micro-transactions to quickly add five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars from game-specific shops.

Five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars - five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars - five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars...

The interface looks interesting, but I have to say, I'm still not fully convinced by that glass effect. Vista seems like a step up on some areas, kinda, and a step down on others. I don't use it though, so obviously I couldn't tell you why to get it. DX10?

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-14 22:53

Since Opera is skinnable, you don't have to use Vista to have the Vista look, and you don't have to use the Vista look even if you run Vista!
