something in my computer made a fart

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-25 21:19

Just now... something in my computer made a quick fart sound.  More like when a woman poots.  "Poot!".  I looked inside but all the fans seem to be whirring at normal speed.  What the fuck happened?

Kernel decompiled.

It's moot that poots in your computer. Kill him with fire, then, install GNU/Mach.

The GNU version of Mach is part of the GNU project therefore it would be more correct to call it GNU Mach.

Stallman wants people to use the term GNU/Linux (the term GNU and Linux is fine too) when referring to the operating system combo. Linux is not part of the GNU project and therefore it is not correct to call it GNU Linux. Stallman wants GNU to be named first because GNU existed before Linux did.

owai- I've been trolled olulz ;)

That's GNAA/Lunix.

BTW, the more they want me to call it GNU/Linux, the more I'll call it Linux alone.

why?

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-26 8:09

because GNU supporters are zealotous fucks

remember the shit they were throwing at linus when he 86ed their stupid mindfuck plan to b& binary kernel modules? yeah

OP here

the sound happened again

I think a cord might be leaning into the fan, and at a certain point the fan hits it and smacks it away.

I replaced my video card fan a week ago.  Do fan problems typically tend to all come down on a nigga at once?  Never had this happen before on any of my previous computers

Ah, THAT sound. That sounds legit, just move the cables out of the way somehow with twist-ties or something.

Fans go for me when I fail to dust (note: de-dustify) then the bearings get all nasty.

Take a look at where your computer is. If it is sitting on the floor (not raised) it will be picking up a lot of dust.  Even raising your computer by the thinkness of a book helps.

I think the fan god just got mad at you for some reason, it's all good.

My computer sits on my desk, next to me.

The fans have been noticeably more noisy recently.  In fact I think the computer's vibration of the desk affects how noisy the computer is -- if I plant my arms and press them down on my desk, the fan in the computer isn't as noisy.  Take my arms off the desk, and the fans in the computer are noisy.  Weird.

OP here. I have fixed the problem and there is no need to post in this thread anymore

Hey you're not the OP, I'm the OP, and it was the sound of my foreskin caught in the closed DVD tray being read by a heat-laser.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-03 22:20

what was the fix?
