Slogdump.txt

Ok, i have a problem. whenever i open Internet explorer an infinite number of windows with the text "can't find "file:///c:/windows/slogdump.txt" pops up. they keep popping up and slow my pc until it's unable to do anything... any ideas?

ok... i imagined i was going to be flamed. I normally use firefox, but i need IE for things like booking my exams. in fact my firefox run flawlessly, and it's just IE that's giving me this problem. How can i fix it without reformatting?

Search the registry for any instances of slogdump.txt and delete.

i kinda fixed it... whenever i run IE from the start menu it gives me the error. But if i open "iexplore" with the run command it opens smoothly. anyone knows what is causing this?

It's caused by using Internet Explorer. It's fixed by not using Internet Explorer.

Just make a search on "slogdump.txt" on your c drive.
You will find it under c:\\windows.
Just delete all slogdump.txt you have on your c drive.
Normally deleting this file will also recover everything.

I have this same exact problem.  I just searched and erased all of the slogdump.txt that came up and it is fixed for now, and I completely understand what you mean, some things you cannot use mozilla for.  People are a$$holes.

There isn't a site I've seen yet that cannot deliver complete content to Firefox.  If there WAS a site that Firefox screwed up on, I'd stop using that site.  Using Firefox is about a thousand times better than getting my security-(ass)hole reamed constantly from using Internet Exploder.

Download a copy of Firefox 2.0.0.6 today and start using it exclusively.  Keep the 5MB installer around in case you have to reload (which has never happened with me).  Keep it around on a thumbdrive.  Email it to friends.  Etc.

If there's a gayfag site you really need IE for, then fire up that batch of security holes only for that site.  The rest of the time, Firefox.
