I work in IT. Only I'm not stupid. And why wouldn't I keep sensible network applications up to date, especially when they autoupdate?
The last time I scanned it? About 1 month ago, routine check, didn't find anything, as expected. Next coming in a few days. I know I'm not infected because I'm not doing anything stupid.
You know how to avoid hepatitus, but you still get your shots, right?
Biological defenses aren't perfect, and I can't see or feel it in any way until it's too late, unlike software.
You know how to drive, but you still have insurance, right?
Insurance is because morons could crash me.
People like you guys are just arrogant and ignorant.
Think whatever you want; you waste time and computer resources on antimalware, and we don't, that's the only difference because none of us will be getting malware.
I still have AVG
In my Windows 2000, I have AVG too, but it's a waste to have it resident. I scan what I need manually (write only media: once, portable R/W media: always, downloads: anything containing executable files or scripts not coming from very reliable sources). Of course, the GUI is a waste of time; I have scripts to quickly scan stuff.
