gentoo is just Windows with a linux skin

Gentoo generally gets to latest GNOME/KDE/whathaveyou faster than the other distros, although if thats all you care about & you're willing to compile you'd use Source Mage.

I loled, but then I realized you didn't mean Ark Linux. Arch might actually be decent. But if you rely on users keeping your distro up to date, you might as well stick with gentoo and make use of Project Sunrise, and the other overlays out there with layman.

Arch's developer-maintained repositories are up to date.  The user-maintained repository is mainly for nightly builds, experimental alternatives, and niche programs.  Popular packages move on to the main repositories.

There is a problem though, you have to copy some files manually if you want to build user packages. (There is a tool for this, but it has a complicated name I cannot remember, but at least it follows the Linux program guidelines -- bang your head on the keyboard)

User maintained repos tend to be full of broken niggersoft put together by noobs or wanna-be developers. This is a side effect of unemployment - too much time on peoples hands leads to this stupid "I do it because I can" attitude.
